A Good Choice for My Needs
I guess what I have been doing is trying out/touring the utility knives available online. I read reviews, I studied and studied everything I could find on them, and ordered several. I ordered one of these before, and wasn't really satisfied with it. Well, now I am! In fact, I just ordered a second one that is due to arrive today. What I have learned is that some of the utility knives are very cranky for someone who has had rheumatoid arthritis for 35 years. That is athe all-over inflammatory form of arthritis that does more damage as time passes. So my hands are limited, along with the rest of me. What I learned about this--by the way very reasonably priced--tool is that it is quite well-made. The screw not falling out when the tool is opened to change a blade is a BIG GOOD THING! And the operation of the retracting positions of the blade is very smooth. Smoother than any other one I ordered. And forget about "automatically" changing blades for me. Ha! If I can remember how to do it on a particular knife, I usually can't get my hands to operate the mechanism. It takes more grip than I have. Folding utility knives? Oh my. Some scary, some impossible for me to operate. And anyway, I don't need one that folds. I CERTAINLY don't need one that ONLY covers the blade by folding! Geeze! Any way it works, storing blades inside a utility knife is risky for me. But this knife only offers that option. There is no reason I have to use that option. I also totally love the color of this knife. I see why there are so many utility knives. For me, it is about the only kind of knife that I can still use. I used to carve rubber stamps with x-acto and other types of knives, but can't control those knives anymore. And the last time I used a kitchen knife to cut vegetables I cut myself badly. I simply don't have the hands to be doing that anymore. But a utility knife is steady. That is, provided it has a retractable blade! No more cutting of fruits and vegetables for me, but they come frozen already cut up! Happily, hubby is very handy around the house, and the fancy-dancy, heavy-duty folding knife that I couldn't get to do ANYTHING, he was able to work easily and has happily put it into his workbench. Another knife I was able to fold (in a way I don't think it was meant to be folded, but it works) but could not get a blade into it. He did that for me. Honestly, it took expertise AND special hands! But maybe I could use it some and have him change the blade for me when I need a fresh one. At least that heavy-duty folding Dewalt utility knife has a retractable blade--if you can get the blade all the way in, in place. Geeze!

Solid, comfortable, handy knife -- a winner
This is for the orange "High-visibility" retractable model. I just received this knife and used it for a few tasks. Too soon to address durability, of course, but I think this is a great product. And it is very solidly made, all metal, so I'm sure it will be durable. Comfortable to hold, solid, easy to extend and retract the blade. And installing the blade was easy and intuitive for me (and I'm not good at this sort of thing at all!). You do need to have a screwdriver to open the case to install a blade, but that's not a big deal. I see that the red "Safety" model eliminates the need for a screwdriver by using a little thumbscrew, which seems like a handy feature. But I think this "High-vis" model is a better choice as I wouldn't want to have to deal with the self-retracting feature--I actually think this one is safer as you don't have to struggle to hold the button while cutting as with the self-retractable model. I'll add that I have small hands and feel very comfortable using the knife. Excellent value for a tool that will be used frequently.

Perfect!
I bought this to cut a section of carpet & the blade slid through it like butter - I basically just had to guide it. VERY sharp, with a handle that is comfortable & solid & easy-to-see safety orange, so this is an excellent tool that I imagine will last forever. I did not have any trouble with assembly. But I did decide to deduct one star because even when fully retracted, the tip of the blade (the snap-off part) still sticks out a tiny bit & that's not safe. I don't want to put the blade back in the housing after each use, nor snap off a part that's still perfectly usable, so I just stuck a cork on the tip & wrapped the top in clear plastic to hold the cork in place. That flaw makes it not totally perfect for me, but it certainly serves its purpose very well. UPDATE: Originally I entitled this review Almost Perfect. Someone very kindly pointed out that I had not placed the blade in the right groove & as soon as I corrected it, the blade does indeed totally retract. I added the well-deserved fifth star & corrected the review title. (And admit to feeling foolish to not have figured out what I was doing wrong in the first place. Eye roll...)

Good quality knife. Great for opening all those Amazon boxes
Great product. Ergonomic design makes it easy to hold. Also has good weight to it and does not feel cheap or flimsy.Orange color makes it easy to spot inside a toolbox or drawer. Removed 1 start since I couldnt figure out at first on how to remove from packaging. The packaging did not mention anything about needing to unscrew and take it apart to remove the packaging.

A simple and great utility knife
My brother gave me a blue Irwin knife like this one many years ago and it has always been my favorite for ease of use and the way it feels in the hand. This new Irwin is pretty much the same knife and feels and works just as nicely. Can't say much about the orange color, but I guess it is easier to spot from a distance.

Sturdy!
Worth the price. You’ll use it for a very very long time. Super sturdy.

STRONG, RETRACTIBLE BLADE, ERGONOMIC HANDLE.
The title pretty much says it all. We bought one of these years ago and recently bought two more. The shape and strength help this tool outperform others we've used.

But it is a pretty decent-quality box cutter (or utility knife if you want ...
Does not come with blades, you'll have to buy those separately. But it is a pretty decent-quality box cutter (or utility knife if you want to call it that). The shape makes it comfortable in your hand, it's easy to spot because of the orange color and it has a good weight to it.

Great but just a bit big

Advertised as " come with blade". Well, it didn't. Disappointed 😞

No blades came with it which is disappointing when it said it came with 3 blades...
