So we looked at the splitters in a frame, but decided they were all too pricey or looked a bit flimsy, so we opted for this. I have to say, it’s brilliant! You screw it to a flat base, we used a slice of tree trunk. Once attached it’s simple to use, splits logs nicely!

A solid piece of metal wedge that splits pieces of wood easily as long as they are not too long. I use the back of a hand axe as a hammer to drive the wood onto the wedge.It's a must to firmly screw the wedge to a solid platform.Overall, I'm very happy with It's performance.

Great little item- works well- blade has cover but even on removal isn’t very sharp- I was surprised by this but splits logs easily.This does need to be mounted on surface of choice - perhaps suitable pre mounted options could be a good addition to options available

I am happy with the product, I use it for splitting the larger logs rather than making kindling.
