A Treasury of 8 Books

Ungerer is a master of children's literature, his works are perhaps not so well known as other authors but the quality of the illustrations and narrative are simply mind blowing. This collection delivers hours of imaginative histories ideal to keep your kids away from the electronic entertainment (at least for a good while)

Very nice. Well done. I expected this to be eight individual books, but it is one large volume with all of the texts and illustrations bound together. It's very well done, just not quite what I expected. But that's in me, I didn't read the description carefully enough. Anyway, the illustrations are lquite large and nice. Great for reading along with a child. Ungerer is one of my favorite author/illustrators, and it's nice and convenient to have all the stories together.

Some of the stories in this book were ok the rest were not great, couldn’t justify keeping it for mediocre stories.

Beautiful volume of Tomi's books. Wonderful artwork and quality. A bit disappointed at first, I thought this was a set of 8 books this is actually a single book with 8 stories. My disappointment was short lived. I am still happy with my purchase. A great addition to my son's library.

I have hundreds of kids books and my kids have been enjoying this book for years. The stories deal with way more complex concepts than typical children’s book at the same reading level. Before I made this purchase we’ve been borrowing it from the library multiple times.

The book is beautiful---an excellent collection of some of Tomi Ungerer's best children's books. It was sent promptly and in perfect condition.

Get it, great for ALL ages. My 18month old loves it. Especially moon man because he is obsessed with the moon. Can usually only make it through one or two stories at this age.

Be warned: some of these stories are quite dark for small children. For those who enjoy Tomi Ungerer, this is a very handsome collection.

The education value of these stories is amazing, to open your mind and think about real human emotions and real human outcomes is most critical for a child’s long term well being. Not everything is meant to be wrapped up in a pretty bow in the end. It is meant to make you think. Also love the inventiveness found in every story

It wasn't clear when I bought it, but this is a large hard-cover volume with a hard sleeve. It's beautiful and one of my child's treasured possessions.

Tomi Ungerer è stato uno dei più grandi creatori di storie 'moderne' per bambini, oggi messo un po' in ombra da nuovi e bravi disegnatori.

So interesting to also know about the author which put his stories, this collection, into context and to understand what he was aiming to achieve in his writing. I was especially looking for “Otto” which seems to be out of print in the UK while is still, importantly, in Europe is used as a text for teaching about WW11. I wonder why we have dropped such an interesting resource and urge others to try to get access to it and encourage its re-print. Well worth it. Stories are suitable from 5yrs but will be still enjoyed by older children and, with an adult’s support, further depth will be appreciated.
