I got this to be a practical sound effect in a musical, and it works great - with a little muscle you get a really solid popping sound. But it's a fun toy as well - a great alternative for kids who want to play with guns. It's safe (sure it might sting a child's cheek a bit to get hit with the cork at close range, but hey), strong, well-made, and satisfying. And if you need a pop sound, it'll do the trick too.

Works as should but price is too much for what it is

I had bought a look alike at another store made in China that lasted about a week. This one made in the USA has never failed and has a silicone popper that my 2 year old grandson has been giving it a workout and having lots of fun. It is very well made and I appreciate that after throwing the other one in the trash. There is no projectile so he cannot get hurt.

Best pop gun we have purchased! My Son tends to be rough on his toys and this has held up for hours of play. He can really crank out an impressive "POP!" without damaging the string or rubber cork. Durable barrel, string, cork and lovely painted wood handle piece. Great gift for children of all ages. I myself have enjoyed startling my Son & Husband on a regular basis. We bought this for our two year old son's birthday and were so excited about it being his first gun! Really wanted to give it 5 stars but it pinched both daddy and mommy real bad while we were playing with it. The tube that slides could use a guide or gaurd or something to prevent little hands from being pinched while using it. There is a warning on the label, but I'd like to see the company try to address the safety issue. I am concerned if my son gets pinched that he won't want to play with it anymore. Great popping sound, smooth wood, nice thumb hole, the plastic tube has a nice feel. Such a great toy!! Would definitely purchase more, but perhaps for an older child who could follow directions in use more closely - then again, maybe mommy and daddy need to pay closer attention! Definitely worth the money, fun classic toy.
