I ordered the smaller one, I'm using it as photo-journal. It fits a 4x6 photo perfectly on the page horizontally and Polaroid pictures as well. The pages are beautifully crafted and the binding is superb. Overall, it's a beautiful journal, and lets not forget the leather, its soft and the green color I bought is eye catching with an old vintage feel to it. Thank you for such a great product!

This leather journal looks like something out of the middle ages. The paper is great quality. The price is very reasonable. The color is exactly what I anticipated. This works great for Journaling.

Perfect for my writing project, great leather, smells genuine, and the added paper size I find preferable to a standard 8x11 bound journal.

This is a 5" x 7" journal which could be used for Journaling, drawing, or as a travel journal. It is made of real leather (and has that wonderful, real leather smell!) and I'd held shut with a leather strap wrapped around it. It has 220 pages. The pages themselves are thick parchment paper which are bound together with thick straps of leather; the straps are as useful as they are decorative. There are many positive things about this journal, the most important being how authentic and historical-looking it is. It truly looks like it was made centuries ago. It is real leather, having that great leather smell to it. The parchment paper is unlined, cream colored, and thick; writing does not seep through, making it possible to write on both sides of the paper. The strip of leather wrapped around it holds it securely closed. It looks like a book that needs important things written in it; it is not for writing your grocery list in. The binding is beautiful: a series of x's on the spine, and, on the inside, the pages are divided into 5 sections which are held together by the leather strips. Though it is the least expensive of this type offered by Amazon, you would never guess it. It is every bit as nice as the more expensive ones. The main downside to it is that it is hard to keep open while writing because of the way it is bound. Also it seems kind of small, though it's size was given in the description. It is perfect to set on your nightstand or in a drawer, but it would be awkward to put standing on a bookshelf with other books. I got it to use in a sacred writing class I was taking, and it is absolutely perfect for it. It's a little awkward to write in, but we'll worth it to give my writing the feel I wanted it to have. It looks like something scribes of old would have used. It looks humble yet important, something I will want to hang onto, not just throw away when I'm done. If you are looking for a modern journal, with bigger, lined paper, and a lack of originality, this is not for you. If you want something which is unique, important, and old fashioned, you will like to get it. The best word I can use is "authentic". It gives a wonderful feel to your writing.

This is a great journal or sketch book. I purchased the chocolate brown - great price for a real leather bound, hand stitched journal with so many pages - all natural materials, real leather, hand made paper (?) - simple, pleasant design - well finished - paper is slightly aged/darkened to a pleasant off white, but not yellow or orange, still very light to draw, sketch or journal on it - brown leather is well crafted, color as described (some users report a flat or too light color), minor irregularities desired in this kind of antiqued journals. - I ordered this model and the one with a metal clasp. This one doesn't smell like leather as much, but is equally well done and a beautiful item to hold and to watch. One star off because there is a huge difference in paper quality between this journal and the other model offered by the same maker for a little more money. This was not apparent to me in pictures. This paper is thinner, the edges are straight as if cut with by machine, and it doesn't have any texture. It is also not aged the same way, paper is more even all around in color, and lighter, just barely off white with no grain. It will probably buckle/warp with wet media like watercolor or gouache, and not sure how it would respond to ink or alcohol markers, since it is much thinner than the other seemingly handmade paper form the other notebook. Other than this, a very good, attractive journal with a simple design and excellent for notes and dry materials like pencils, charcoal, chalk, regular pens, oil pastels, collages.

Simple design, rustic look. Pages are thicker than I thought, which is a good thing. I love the leather cover and closure wrap.

Suprisingly genuine product. Artisant gave a left thumbprint... i would too if i made stuff like this ...itd be cool to see one with really thick watercolor paper too...for certain buying this again so i wont have to decide what to fill them with

思っていたより断然良かったです。 袋から取り出した時の感触・・『あ、革だ』 お色は、グリーン。 レビューを参考にしましたが、個性があるようですね。 画像にあるように、とても落ち着き和むグリーン。キレイです。 作りもしっかりしています。 雰囲気もバッチリ！ どんな使い方しようかなぁ〜とワクワクします。 用紙もいい感じですね。 紙のニオイに気になる点はありません。 ただただ、本革のいい香り。 使い込みたくなる感触です。 大事に使っていきます。 たまたま見つけたのですが、 購入して良かったです。 ありがとうございます。

It's perfect

I am an avid journal collector and i am especially fond of these type of journals which are very olde worldly in feel, look and smell. I love that when I opened this up the first thing I could smell was genuine leather, now a days so many items pretend to be leather but they aren’t. We’ve been using leather since forever and I personally prefer it over every man made fabric. This leather is a decent thickness too, which will protect the contents well. The paper is stitched in and decent quality too, at the top of each page on the left hand side are check boxes for weather and days of the week, and on the right are spaces for memo number and date. The leather strap to close the journal is long enough to go around the book and tie at the front however you want to tie it. I will use this for essential oil and herbal blends as I think it lends itself perfectly for that, but I’m positive that it could be used for so many other ideas, from larping, through to daily journaling.

My husband loves this journal it's a little stiff but I'm sure the more he uses it the softer it will become
