Great case but a smallish gap at the back for cables
First off, the case is excellent in terms of build quality, it's rugged, it looks good and the Rane One fits in snug and the laptop shelf is a great addition. The shelf has moveable velcro blocks to keep your kit in place if you have an outboard fx unit or streamdeck and a hole to fit power and USB cables through.. plenty of room on top but don't slide the shelf too far back as I am not sure how much weight it would take and also mine didn't have any sort of stop mechanism so first time using it I almost pushed the shelf out the runners and lost the laptop on to the floor! The shelf does however clear the all important ribbon slider and track selector control knob at the top edge of the Rane One.The shelf is a welcome addition overall but if you are streaming with this in place just be aware you'll need to pop a camera higher up as the laptop screen will obscure the Rane One when filming front on.The front panel of the Gorilla case detaches to allow you to access the cue, mic and crossfader controls at the front of the Rane One. I guess due to integrity and structure of the case that it doesn't have a detachable back. The issue this creates is that although there is room to plug the cables in the back, if you use the USB cable that comes with the Rane One it has to bend at nearly 90 degrees due the shield protector dongle on the end of the USB cable.. this means that there is always slight tension on the Rane One USB port which may over time glitch the unit or Serato. Its not a definite but would be better for there to be no cable bend.. similar is true or the mic ports or any cable that needs an adapter at the back.. its just all a bit tight and cables feel taught when in the ports..One small addition I'd have liked, but knew it didn't have them, was rubber feet, or an option with screw holes that you could put them on if you need them. If you have the case on a tabletop, I would worry some more heavy scratch routines could see the case slip about a bit on the surface despite its combined weight. I have mine on a hacked IKEA Kallax and the case has slipped.. not a showstopper but one to be aware of.Overall, it is a great case but I wish I knew about the above as it might have swayed me to pay a bit more for another manufacturer that have thought the above through.4 stars for me.. 5 if they get it right in a revised mark 2..
