I had high hopes for this given the pitfalls of gait belts in general. It slid upward despite being adjusted to a tight fit. Started on my waist, ended over my bra.the inside is a slippery nylon. It almost needs a rubber gripper liner to be effective.if you are using this to help guide an otherwise ambulatory person- probably really good.if you need it to assist with standing transfers - not good.

My 19 year old son acquired a neurological condition that took away his ability to walk several years ago. Since becoming ill, he has been receiving Physical Therapy to learn how to walk again. This has been the PERFECT gait belt for him!The narrower gait belts he has been using are painful and can trigger painful abdominal myoclonus for him. This is the first gait belt he has found comfortable. There are three handles on this gait belt which are nice allowing us to hold on to the handle rather than placing our fingers under the prior gait belts. The belt is easy to apply and fastened together with a clasp that is very durable and secure. We have had no problem with the belt sliding down. As with all gait belts, it needs to be applied snugly. I highly recommend this belt!

I figured that with my waist being 36 inches, if I purchased the 28 to 48 inch belt, it should fit perfectly. Well, no. The belt may fit a 48 inch waist but the padding is only 26 inches long! The padded area covered my back but only about 1/2 of my hips. Not good! Consider that when trying to purchase the correct size for you. The description should have pointed that out! Not worth my time to exchange it, guess I'll consider it another bitter lesson learned!

I bought this gaitbelt for a person who is partial weight bearing and is a two person assist. When tightened appropriately it does not slide up on the resident. The person can be combative at times, so a quick buckle is great to have. It worked very well with her and on me when I was training staff how to use it. I had no problem with the buckle coming undone. The gait belt is wide and padded, making it a much comfortable experience. Thank you!
