Highlights 2022 Almanac Calendar

Highlights for Children has always been a class act. So when they come out with a product like this calendar, you know it’s going to be fun and informational. Well, this calendar fits the bill perfectly, and while there are a couple negatives to this calendar, the positives outweigh them.First, this is a monthly almanac calendar. Each full spread month is broken into two parts, the top which has a puzzle, a craft, a recipe or something similar, and the bottom which has all the days of the month. The top half usually pertains in some way to the month in question and the days each have facts about the day, many of them pertaining to holidays or “National ____ Day.” The calendar is colorful with a good number of pictures to draw attention to itself and the dates are printed large and bold so you can see them from a distance. The calendar also comes with a couple sheets of stickers so kids can mark special days with them. It’s a great calendar for fun activities and factoids.The downsides. First is that it’s not printed on very heavy paper. Pages are fairly flimsy and I could see them ripping easily. Also, markers are a no-no for use on this thing because they’ll bleed through pretty quickly. Second is that the calendar dates are so jam packed full of text that writing your own stuff in the date boxes is not really practical. This is not a calendar to use if you want to keep track of family schedules or events. There just isn’t room.Bottom line here is that it would have been nice if they would have used nicer paper stock for the pages, especially give the price. The content is A+, however, as is expected from Highlights.

We are a large family with a hectic schedule and I tend to keep multiple calendars -- one for school, one for work, one for sports. We found that the calendar on the wall which was supposed to coordinate the family schedule fell by the wayside but we still liked having the date front and center.This is smaller than the typical calendar, but the dates are large and easy to see from a distance. The cover is thick cardstock, the pages themselves are standard weight paper. I wish they were heavier as ours has already torn through the hole at the top, and we haven't even hit January yet.Each day has a fun day of the month or fact. There are unique and interesting illustrations to go along, and the top half will have unique things like recipes or crafts. There is certainly enough to keep you interested and engaged with the calendar. What there isn't, however, is space to write birthdays or family activities. Still, if you just need something to entertain and keep track of days this is a unique and fun option.

Cute Calendar, full of Fun Facts.I have always LOVED Highlights. I used to get the magazine when I was little. I am still addicted to the hidden pictures. I also always loved fun facts and discovering what made each day special. This is just like my first calendar. I am not sure if it was also Highlights; but this is just like the one that I LOVED. I referred to it, year to year… until it disappeared. I was happy to find this one.It is full of Puzzles, Fun Facts, Jokes, Recipes, Crafts, Games.. Emoji Stickers.. and more.It does not really have a place to keep track of your personal Events.. or things to do; but it does bring an awareness to something fun, that makes each day special.“National Opposite Day”… “National Kazoo Day”.. “National Puzzle Day”..There is something fun to explore and be aware of, every day.I think it is a fun family calendar, I am excited to put it up to share with the family.

I love this 2022 Almanac Calendar from Highlights! From the bright colors to the interesting facts and dates, this is perfect for families with young children.The paper of the calendar is of good quality and the images are detailed. There are puzzles, recipes, craft ideas, and fun facts making each month interesting. In the back of the calendar there is a puzzle answer guide in case your little one needs a bit of additional help.There are a boatload of stickers accompanying the calendar that can create some interactive opportunities.The calendar is priced right. Whether you purchase it for your own family or as a gift, the kids will love it. Great job, Highlights!

This is such a great quality calendar for families and kids. I love how bold and vibrant the colors are on this calendar. Each page has so much content - dates (obviously), national days, puzzles, mazes, monthly tips and did you know items, as well as 2 pages of stickers. I love this so much I am going to see about ordering enough for my daughters class for the holidays, that way each of them can look forward to the new year with some vibrancy. Highlights really made this calendar such a fun item to have. A++++++!!!

My kids like this calendar. It's nice to have a few puzzles and activities each month, and having a "holiday" or event each day is fun. The calander itself is a bit busy and crowded, it's not a good calander to write your own stuff on, there's just not space. It's also quite expensive for a calander, and it's hard to complete some of the puzzles because the glossy calander paper is hard to write on. Still, my kids are happy with it and they are excited to see what new holiday or theme each day brings.

This is perfect for 6-10 year olds. I asked a bunch of older kiddos if the topics/pages interested then and they were indifferent. The kids just a smidge younger all got really excited about the content. The layout is colorful, but easy to read and full of silly, fun facts.

I ordered this calendar for my children to look at each day when they are eating breakfast. But after taking a look at it myself, I realize there are a lot of interesting facts that I didn't know as well! So this calendar will be good for the whole family to read every day. I have always been happy with the quality of the educational products that Highlights makes for children. This calendar would make a great Christmas gift.
