Bought this for several small projects- Soo happy with it!!!
I purchased this to epoxy an old stained shower pan. I rollered it on, 3 coats, and it came out GORGEOUS with various mica effects I used on it.At the same time, I refinished a tub with Rustoleum's tub and shower product, which was a 4:1 vs this which is 2:1, so I had a DIRECT comparison between the 2 different products.Biggest, HUGEST big deal advantage.... the VOC fumes. This had barely any fumes (but it did have some smell). The other one gave me a headache through a full face mask with VOC filtration, and the fumes did not let up for 3 days, with a fan blowing on it, and the window open. I used this stuff on the shower pan first, and had NO idea how much of a difference the low VOC formula makes. What a difference!!Durability - time will tell, but no peeling, no issues that I can see so far at all. This is not described as being suitable for a tub, which is why I went with the rustoleum, but the 'flexibility' description seems to hold true. The shower pan is very old (rental property), and it does 'flex' a bit when you stand on it. This is holding up fine as I walk around on the shower after cure. Again, time will tell.Coverage- I purchased a set of clear as well as black. The clear has a very very light yellow tint to it (compared to snow white), and the black has remarkable coverage. In the first rollered coat, on a surface that slopes (shower pan slopes towards drain), it covered the old cracked, chipped, yellowed original base flawlessly, with zero colors leaking through. Definitely densely pigmented.I had black left over, and coated an old plywood cheap table top, and it too was a 1 coat coverage, although it will need a 2nd coat (due to wood imperfections, not resin issues).Bubbles - it DID have some bubbles, which I used a heatgun to get out, but the bubbles were not bad to begin with, and it's possible they would have self-leveled out had I not. This self-levels REALLY well, which isn't the best if you are looking for a thick coating or pour on a not perfectly level surface, it will pool into the lower areas. That said, you can still coat thicker than paint, but it WILL flow if applied too thickly.I am happy with the price, the properties, and the results, absolutely. I would buy the clear and black again in a heartbeat (did not try other colors to know if they are as densely pigmented as black)!
