I don’t think it is for that the strap buckled around fingers and at the base of the palm! It is awesome for the gym though !!

it's depending on how you want to use it. In general, it helps you lifting weights like shoulder press or heavy objects, so your hand won't be slippery and for person who has weak fingers to grasp things (physical therapy) to exercise the muscles by pulling the objects like 60 lbs. as much as 150 lbs. with weightlifting hook. Another device that you can look into is Robotic Gloves which may be helpful, but it does not come as cheap as this one.
