Wooden Medium Pet Crate, End Table, Black

We purchased one for my husband's truck dog back in June. She is a 35lb Basenji and this is perfect for her. I love that it is solid wood. No particle board. Easy to put together. Sturdy. Attractive. This would also work for slightly smaller dogs but would probably fit maybe up to a 50 lb dog (ish?). We loved ours enough that an older friend of ours just got a new dog and my husband wanted to gift her a nice crate so we got her one just like ours and I will be dropping it off tomorrow.My only complaint would be, the door does not stay open for our dog to go in and out of. What I did is, I found a black metal doorstop here on Amazon and attached it to the door (pictured) and it has worked great. I ended up preinstalling it on our older friend's crate too.Oh ... and another note ... We found that a 24" tray fit perfectly in this crate. Actual dimensions on a 24" Midwest replacement tray is 23 x 16.75 x 1 inches. This tray runs about $13.Overall ... we love this crate and recommend it.

Ok, I feel like I need to state the obvious to some people. This is a wooden kennel. If your dog chews on its metal kennel it will destroy this kennel. Same with digging, body slamming, and other such behaviors. All wooden kennels are for properly trained dogs only, if your dog isn't kennel trained don't try to put your dog in a wooden kennel. My 5.5lbs Pomeranian could 100% break out of this thing if he wanted to but doesn't because he is kennel trained. Also keep in mind you are going to want to re-train your dog to this kennel, don't just toss him in and hope for the best. Remember a kennel should be a safe place for a dog not a prison cell.As for the kennel itself. Overall the appearance is accurate to the advertised photos. I however only give it 4 stars because of two things. The first was that the bottom floor panel that the dog sits on is a composite material not wood. That is probably the one piece that I would want to be wood as any water on it will cause it to warp. So I moved his water dish outside of the kennel. Also if your dog pee's in it not only will it warp but there will probably be a residual odor. I will probably look into some kind of liner or waterproofing for the bottom. The second issue I had was a small dent/chunk missing from the top along the side. Not a big piece less than a quarter inch dent in the wood, but the package arrived dented so somewhere along in shipping it happened. I only noticed when I was 75% done with assembly and didn't care enough to try and send it back. The only reason I mention this is because most items (end tables, book cases, ect...) that I've ordered and have mailed to me are wrapped up so tight and have 1/2 inch styrofoam packing, this only had 1/4 inch styrofoam and the dent looked like 1/2 inch would have prevented it. So if your mail carriers are a bit rough when handling your packages give your kennel a good look over before you start assembly to make sure it's ok.

Loved this kennel, it was solid and looked nice in the house.I would not recommend it if your dog is part beaver. It only lasted until she got her big dog teeth and then it was slowly eaten from the inside.

Be careful putting it together, it marks easily and if you have kids there will be dents within minutes. It's inexpensive so you have to assume it's not as solid as the expensive ones, but it went together easy and works great for our little dog. Our toddler has left dents in the top with toys. I use a serving tray to protect the top.

I order this last summer, but did win of it or assemble it till now. Very impressed with the quantity of this dog crate, all the parts fit together perfectly, its very attractive and quite solid and heavy. If you have a chewer, I'm not sure this would be a good option as its made of wood. I have rescue and foster dogs, so I have crates up all the time, this is a nicesince it doubles as an end table. It looks very nice, the quantity of this crate surprised me. I considering getting more as my budget allows.
