Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo: Scream for Ice Cream

"In All Our Years Together He Never Once Treated Me Like A Spoon."
In "Scream For Ice Cream" we get the second installation of Bo-bobo on DVD. Opening with where episode four left off, episode five, "To Be or Snot To Be?" finds King Nose Hair awakened and deciding to tour France on a bicycle; Bo-bobo and his pals ride rhinos as they're safer than bikes. The English dub and the subtitles disagree a bit, but there is a "green tea rice soup beam" that the green soup aliens are using to make everyone want their soup or they'll go insane. Bo-bobo decides he wants clams and goes diving where he calls on fish for assistance and employs the underwater fist of the nose hair, discusses bivalves with his talking uvula, gets into a fight and has to resort to "the dance of fish manipulation", which induces fish-men to kiss the alien, who is repulsed and leaves. This is an especially disjointed but tremendous episode.Episode six, "Pasta...The Perfect Food!" is not one of my favorites, and involves the Pasta Prince inspiring Bo-bobo with the spaghetti slide, while Don Patch is revealed to be Bo-bobo's mom in a complete surprise. After they move in with two living wooden spoons, there's drama about a toilet!Episode seven, the delightfully named "Queen Chicken Level and the Video Store of Dumb", opens with Bo-bobo riding a vacuum cleaner car down the interstate with the "control set for deep shag"; watch for the ensuing car chase like no other! After a meditation on oral hygiene, the episode peaks with the unforgettable quote "The day I'm bald is the day I dye my nose hairs blonde!"Episode eight, "We All Scream For Ice Cream!" involves King Nose Hair singing in French while riding a bicycle and an ice cream-headed stranger named Softon. The DVD also has some extras including some line art, trailers, and character profiles.I enjoy the wacky send up of anime with this series, and if you love surrealist animated comedy, this is a good but strange bet!

Bo-Tastic!
I have the first of the Bo-bobo DVDs along with this one and let it be known.... THIS DVD HAS SUBTITLES THAT COINCIDE WITH THE JAPANESE SCRIPT (Unlike the 1st DVD). That's all I really wanted in these DVDs because the English dub is pretty bad. If you're a Bo-Bobo fan, do yourself the favor and skip the first DVD and get this one...

Great!
This show is amazingly funny! It's full of random and quirky moments that will leave you laughing for hours! Some people may not get the humor or understand Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo because the show parodies a lot of other anime and manga. If you know a little about Japanese culture/pop culture then you will enjoy this even more!

this was ridiculous
If you are a parent, don't bother watching it; but a kid will love it. I'm not sure if there is a specific plot line, but it is kinda funny, and my 15 yr old brother and his friend thought it was hysterical. Stupid, and loud, but mostly a harmless show, outside of it's general weirdness. Ok for bored kids over 9.
