24" X 12" X 1/2" 8lb Density Ceramic Fiber Insulation

Used this ceramic fiber insulation in a home made kiln for heat treating knives. Does a great job as insulation and looks like it will hold up for quite some time. Was able to double wrap it around the inside of a stove pipe and it holds its shape without any outside assistance. The included knife is a nice touch. Cuts easily if you lay it flat and make a couple slicing passes. Fibers will fall off of this whenever you move it around so keep that in mind and vacuum up.

I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS MATERIAL A 5 EXCEPT THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT SUPPLY THE CUTTING TOOL AS STATED. I SOLVED THE PROBLEM BY USING A DREMEL WITH A DIAMOND CUTTING WHEEL. I'M ALLERGIC TO GLASS WOOL AND USED THIS MATERIAL IN ITS PLACE IN AN OVEN REPAIR. IT'S OVERKILL BUT WORKS GREAT. THE SECTION I USED IT IN BARELY GETS WARM TO THE TOUCH ON THE OUTSIDE. I'M GOING TO USE THE LEFTOVER TO MAKE A SMALL REFRACTORY FURNACE.

Used it to wrap my espresso machine boiler. Works perfect on a 5 liter or smaller boiler. I used a blow torch on it to see if it really doesn't allow heat through....yep, it's amazing stuff. Can't feel the heat from a direct flame! And, it didn't burn the fibers at all. Really cool stuff.

I was able to cut down the heating time on my 3d printer heating bed by 75% - 80% using this and some aluminum foil tape. It's nice to not have to wait 10 minutes for the heating bed to be ready to print.

Great for setting up small pieces to slump in my microwave kiln, or as the base for other hot glass manipulation. Not good for every application because the glass tends to stick and spike. But that's not what I'm using it for!

Just as described and reasonably priced. I was looking for high temp insulation to insulate the seat on my Honda Pioneer since the engine is below the bench seat. This material worked great and definitely cut down on the heat hitting the operator.

This material does insulate well but ,for my use I would prefer a solid piece of insulation.

I used it to insulate some gaps around the chimney. Works well!
