My First Hands-On Bible

Great for wiggly 4 year olds
I can't talk up this Bible enough. It is SO GOOD for wiggly little boys. My son is 4 and I look forward to reading this with him every day. We had been reading the NIV Children's Bible but I felt like we needed to get him in the actual Word. This is a great bridge Bible.I love it especially because it allows for additional discussion. Yes, there are a lot of stories left out, and yes, oftentimes it jumps in partway through and may end prematurely--but for a 4 year old it's perfect. He asks questions which leads to discussion, either about the context of the stories or about the snapshot we receive. The end of story Jesus Connection is well thought out and the two discussion questions are perfect for engagement length and offer us a chance to have a conversation and put faith into action. After all, merely hearing a message and agreeing with it is a waste--we need to do something with it.I love that this Bible uses the actual text as well. Since it reads differently than his storybook NIV Children's Bible it has introduced him to God's Word on a compelling way.I'll definitely be getting him the next version of the hands on Bible in a year or two. As a 6-12 grade Youth Pastor this is by far my favorite preschool introduction to God's Word. Can't recommend it enough. Also, my son's favorite color is blue--and the blue cover version is just the icing on the cake!We are a month in on this Bible and it's been such a blessing as a father to interact with my boy in this way!

Great first Bible book
My son reads this Bible version to his preschooler every night. They have wonderful discussions. The words are straight from the Bible, not "dumbed down", but understandable, especially with the discussion and activity. Definitely recommend

GREAT Bible for 4-5 yr olds!!
My 4 year old LOVES this Bible. We are kids Bible junkies hahaha; I'm always trying to find the best one for my child's developmental stage so they aren't bored or overwhelmed with our reading times. We have 10 other kids Bibles, and this one is the first one she begs/reminds us to read to her every day! That's a major WIN! :-) She LOVES the "handprints" that are connected to something active that the child gets to do in the middle of story (like "walk across the room and bask to pretend you're walking on water"). These handprints really help her engage with the story and make it fun. And they often think of ideas that I would not think of! I also really appreciate that this Bible goes verse by verse through the Bible stories; most Bibles for younger children just paraphrase and many don't even give a reference! I appreciate that they are getting the children used to the idea of reading the Bible verse by verse. I also like the "Let's Talk" section because it has great question suggestions that I wouldn't always thing of asking; I also appreciate the craft ideas and other "through the week" ideas they give for bringing the themes from the story into everyday life. We aren't crazy about the "Jesus connection" section--some of these are spot on, but many are more moralistic or just plain random! (Example:For the story about Jesus as a boy in the temple, the Jesus connection says "We can ask people questions about God and Jesus".??? What is that? Why not talk about Jesus knowing God is His Father and that means He is the Son of God?!). However, this section isn't a huge deal to me overall since we have the Jesus Storybook Bible; it is fairly easy for me to create my own "Jesus Connection" words if the ones in this Bible seem too moralistic or too random. Overall: this is a GREAT Bible for active 4-5 yr olds who really have a hard time sitting still through devotional time. This Bible does the work of engaging them at their level, as well as giving great activity ideas for parents/caregivers. If you want your child to remind YOU to read the Bible to them, get this one!! :-)

Great for 5 Yr Old
Bought this for my 5 yr old as a preschool graduation gift for kids church. She cant read yet so we read it together, but she loves it. It has short and easy activities every few verses to keep her engaged. The Bible is condensed to the main stories, but the verses for these stories stay true to the translation so it's not completely paraphrased which is nice. It will be a good bible for her elementary days until she graduates to middle school and I can buy her a teen Bible.

A favorite for us!
This product is perfect for little ones! My 7 year old wanted one after seeing my 9 year old with his, so we had to get it! My 9 year old has had his for a couple of years now, and it’s still in amazing shape, despite how rough he is on books!

Kids bible
Bought this bible for my 4 year old. I like this version of the Bible because it takes the text from the actual bible although it does skip some parts the make the stories shorter. Has an interactive feature that is a nice touch it encourages kids to play out scenes of the Bible and that helps them to understand the story more.love it!

The best preschool bible!
Bought for my 3 year old who is very ahead in reading and comprehension and this bible is perfect. They have been using it at church for Sunday since it even has a lesson, prayer and devotional for the arch bible story. Very engaging and accurate.

Perfect second Bible for preschool-grade 1 ages!
We were looking for something more in depth than the “my first Bible” we had before because my 4 year old knows all the stories, but he’s not ready for a full on Bible yet. This is the perfect transition. I am super impressed with all the side activities that you can do along with the Bible stories in this Bible for preschoolers. I would recommend 100% of the time to preschool parents!
