Easy, Cheap Kettle
It arrived in a good shape and was exactly as described. I'm very happy with how it holds temperature, although it does fluctuate a little.

Great value kettle!
This kettle works great for pour over coffee. I set it to 200f and it takes about 4 minutes to heat, little beep and then as I pour the water the timer starts counting for me. I do a 50g pour and wait about 30 seconds to let the grounds absorb the water and let go of gases trapped inside. Then I add the remaining water slowly with the gooseneck allowing for the easy controlled pour. All this with zero contact with plastic, which is ultimately the main reason I brew with this method. The size of this kettle is also perfect for me. It is super easy to clean and descale and the matte black always looks good. So much easier than my old stovetop kettle.

Does the job well
I've written very few reviews but this product is worth one. I've been using it for 6 months and wanted to be sure about it before writing a review. The visual design is elegant and the functionality is very good. There is no staining or rust, but I do wipe the interior with a clean flour sack cotton towel after every use. I'm not fastidious about it; I just ensure that there is no standing water. It does a good, but not perfect job of reaching and maintaining temperature. I use it only for pour over coffee brewing where I fill it to slightly over the 0.3 L mark and set the temperature to 200°, then press the Keep Warm button. It heats quickly and sometimes overshoots by up to 3° but then allows cool down and maintains within a degree from there. A sophisticated controller such as a PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) would probably work better if properly implemented but it's not really necessary for this application. Note that I do not use the To The Degree function so I cannot comment on that. All in all I'm satisfied with this product. One could spend far more and get little better for its purpose. It just works every morning before I've had my coffee and that's exactly what I need.

Perfect with 1 exception
Great kettle; I've had it for about 9 months now. My only problem with it was that it would randomly stop working. I would unplug it & plug it back in a couple of times, and then it would work again. I returned it the first time it did this. The replacement one does it too. But it only happens occasionally, and I like the design and how easy it is to use, so it's really not a big deal.

Good, cheap kettle
This kettle is a good, no-frills choice if you are looking for one which boils water quickly and quietly. I got this kettle for $5 off to augment the Hamilton Beach kettle I bought at Target for $15 bucks a few years ago, because my HB kettle is too noisy and I needed the spout this kettle has.The contact springs on the bottom of the kettle are a bit tight, which makes it harder than it should be to place the kettle onto its lightweight base. There is no temperature control and there are no buttons to press - just a lever switch on the kettle to turn it on. The switch flips itself off when the water is boiling hot.As others have noted, the kettle does NOT switch itself off when lifted off its cheap, plastic base (my cheaper HB does). This kettle's base has a short (28 inch), stiff, heavy duty power cord with a three prong plug (not sure why) which cannot be wound up in the base. The length of the power cord is a problem for me - I needed it to be 36 inches, so I'll have to get a short extension cord (the base has no screws, so you cannot replace the cord either). At 1000 feet above sea level, this kettle quickly boils cold tap water in a few seconds shy of 4 minutes and it does so reasonably quietly in comparison to my HB kettle - it could be a bit quieter if its base was solid (you can hear it boil, but it won't wake the whole house). The kettle and funnel surface get boiling hot, so be careful to only touch the handle.I am pleased its slender, goose neck funnel pours nicely without dripping. So, it's a good choice if you are looking for a slower, consistent pour-over kettle for your drip coffee.I took off one star for the power cord and base complaints, as well as it not turning off when lifted.
