Lovely product which worked well from the start. I have not got around to using the top sheet auto feeder yet but never really used one before. It prints lovely but the downside is that photo printing is painfully slow - about 2 minutes or so for one photograph, like most ink jet printers. Normal colour printing on standard A4 copy paper is quite fast and prints well. The double-sided feature works very well. The feature to allow easy printing from Apple products such as an Ipad is great - no setup required, just select the printer on your device and print, even double-sided. It is all done wirelessly.The scanner worked straight away with my usual photo program without any setting up. The copy feature is excellent - behaves like a photocopier. Paper insertion etc. is easy. There is still much I have not used as yet. Ink cartridges are easy to replace and no alignment of the print heads is required as did my last printer every time you inserted a cartridge. I don't think it is very noisy in use. Automatic print head cleaning from time-to-time. Constant view of how much ink is left in the cartridges is lovely. An excellent product at a reasonable price.

Good reliable printer so far, very quick. A bit noisy and likes to clean itself at all hours, but that's not an issue for me. The colour printing on inkjet paper is excellent. Easy top connect and control over wireless. Large ink cartridges are available as well, minimising changes. Works on Apple AirPrint too!

So far, a pretty good printer. It's worked well on photographs, although those can take a while. Also had issues when my computer went into sleep mode, it would restart jobs. Main problem is that, like many printers today, it is too 'helpful' with certain settings. I often like to put in recycled paper that is not exactly to the size of say, A4, for certain projects that don't need the whole page. But the printer will then kick up a fuss saying it's got the wrong size. So I will have to print on a whole clean sheet, wasting another piece of paper I could use for formal work, while I can't use scraps of paper as I did with my previous printer. Wish I could switch this off.

Easy to install. Prints well. Good quality for this level of printer. Compact and needs little space. Excellent for home office. Cartridges only last for 200 pages. Need to bear this in mind if you use regularly.

This thing has caused me more grief than my wife. I'm not a heavy printer user but would like to print something each month at least. The ink seems to vanish or dry up which makes me think Brother are relying more on a subscription model for ink rather than profiting on the machine itself. The actual print out was ok, nothing special. However, you can't rely on it as when I came to print, more often than not I got the printer out of ink message on either the black or one of the CMY cartridges despite never using any of either really. The final nail for me was when I sought to print - was given the out of ink message - then reached for a pre-prepared Magenta cartridge (yes, I'd gotten to that point) only for the machine not to recognise the newly inserted cartridge (despite all the clicks). I'm not stupid or naive - I know how to change an ink cartridge... Anyway, I did something I've never done before in my life. I booted it. I don't know why or what I expected. Needless to say it didn't respond. Now, after 18 months or so of buying ink and swearing at it, I'm back on Amazon looking for an alternative. I've never had a brother before and will not be entertaining them again in my lifetime.

Absolutely brilliant printer - prints from any device (via wi-fi), lovely print quality, very fast, and no-fuss double-sided printing. So much better than my old Brother, which was actually pretty good. The set-up was weird and fiddly, but, once it's done, everything just works! I could never get wi-fi to work consistantly on my old printer and double-sided printing was a right faff, but this one just does it all automatically. It's also blindingly fast and excellent quality. I wish I'd upgraded years ago!The one drawback in the cartidges - even the non-Brother ones are much more expensive than I was used to with the old printer, and a lot less easy to get hold off. Overall, though, even with more expensive carts, this is a lovely printer, very easy to use, and just does everything you want, at high speed and quality, and with no fuss. If only everything worked like this!

Replaced a very older Brother printer with this one.The printer has worked for 10 years with not bother, but now the LED screen does not repond to touch, so I bought a new Brother.This one was very simple and quick to start up, add cartridges (which are full size unlike HP and canon starter ones) and connected to the wifi instantly.I was able to print as soon as I installed program on my three computers.This also prints right off from iPhone and the iPad.An app does let you scan direct to the IPad, where it is most useful.Ink is a reasonable price and 3rd party inks work too, unlike HP.I have installed HP printers for Age UK and I would NOT recommend them at all, so difficult to install, none of the users could do it and I struggled too. Epson, are pretty good though.The build quality on this printer is more slight than my older printer, ie thinner plastic, the paper receiver is weaker, I hope this lasts as long!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from a printer installer expert of AGE UK
