Lovely Little Box of Bones
I bought this disarticulated skull to assist my anatomy students. Learning human anatomy is already hard, but learning anatomy over Zoom is so much harder. This skull came complete, intact, and arrived in careful packaging. I like how each bag is labeled, which would be perfect for first-time anatomy students. As you can tell in the fourth pic the bones don’t link up together 100%, which is fine for my purposes—to show the landmarks of each bone, not how they articulate.I did plenty of research before choosing this product. The detail of this skull model is the best quality when compared to cheaper models currently on the Amazon marketplace. The mandible clearly shows the digastric fossa, mylohyoid line, the mental spines and the mandibular foramen very nicely. The ethmoid bone shows crista galli in good detail, though I might throw a little bronzer powder into the cribiform plate so it shows up better in Zoom. The perpendicular plate is a little bent—nothing that can’t be fixed with a blast of hot air from a blow dryer. The internal frontal bone is gorgeous. The sagittal sulcus and ethmoidal notch are highly detailed. The styloid process of the temporal bone feels sturdy and came intact. The star of this disarticulated skull, however, is the sphenoid bone. The incredible detail deserves an entire paragraph, but I won’t go into all that. Just know that the sphenoid played a major role in my decision to buy this. Other models on Amazon just didn’t have the level of detail I wanted & needed with this bone in particular. As you can see on the internal parietal bone, the model does have some odd spots which are a result of the plastic modeling process. There are also some points within the edges of each bone which are filled with white putty/tacky stuff (see lambdoidal ridge of occipital bone) which at first I thought was poor QC, however now I realize it’s probably just a place to insert spokes so you can articulate the bones together as desired.I feel that this is a fantastic product, and the level of detail you’re getting really does justify the higher price point.

Accurate
I am taking an Osteology class at a local university and purchased this for study. It is exceptionally realistic and accurate. I wish that this could be held together-as some models are-with pegs. It is hard to fit some bones without larger ones in place. Still, it is an excellent study piece.
