Thermophore MaxHEAT and MaxHEAT Plus, MaxHEAT, Petite, 4" x 17"

I highly recommend this product, this is a great heating pad, in hinesite I probably should have purchased the larger one since this one is so good.Before ordering this one, on two occassions I did bring home the usual drugstore heating pad to replace my old one; the heat was so minimal for them I had to return them, they barely got warm, not like this one. This heating pad is excellent, and I don't give that rating loosely. I highly recommend it, I wouldn't consider going back to the inadequate drug store pads like the Sunbeam, etc. It is well worth the price.

I really wish I would’ve read through the reviews before re-ordering this product. I am also a long-time user of thermophores and up until now have been a loyal fan. I ordered this one to replace my current one which had suddenly stopped working at exactly the two-year mark, just like the 3 or 4 others that preceded it... but now that i see the pattern, I’m thinking about returning this new one unused and unopened, SOLELY BECAUSE OF THE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. And also, because these units have historically stopped working on me at exactly the two-year mark, which ironically enough is right at the warranty. this time around it happened two days before the warranty ran out, so I contacted the company this morning. The person I talk to in Indiana was cold, unfriendly, and very unhelpful. She asked me a series of questions, then said I could return the unit at my own cost, and if it was found to be a “manufactures defect“, they would send a replacement unit. she would not clarify what a manufactures defect was, versus what would not be considered as such. She then went on to tell me that their heating pad is not designed to be used in anyway other than to lay on your stomach and drape it over your back. I am disabled and I can’t do that, so I drape the heating pad over a cushion and gently lean back against it. So currently I am debating whether I want to spend $15-$20 on returning this item to them, as i kind of expect them to write me back and tell me that it was my fault and not theirs, so then I will not only be out the heating pad, but another $15 as well.Basically, this company knows they have a killer product, and over the years I have not found another product that even compares. But I am not going to continue to spend money on something that DOESNT LAST, and cannot hold up under normal use, especially when the company that’s manufacturing and selling it could care less about their customer, as they have clearly demonstrated not only with myself but with previous reviewers.

So happy to have found a heating pad that gets hot! I sometimes can only put it on medium. It's good that it has a 20-minute timer. It wouldn't be good to fall asleep with it, if it didn't.

These are nice heat pads, my favorite. I own several and have used them for decades. This new model is stiffer and wider, and no longer comfortable as a neck wrap. It is an excellent moist heat pad though

I have been a long time user of thermophores and love the high moist heat they deliver. However, when I ordered this model, I didn't pay enough attention to the type of switch that it had. I prefer the manual switch over the automatic switch because the manual switch allows you to determine how long the heat can be applied and if you fall asleep, as your hand relaxes, the unit turns itself off. The automatic switch controls how long you can apply the heat and turns itself off after an hour or two. When I received this one in the mail, I realized I had ordered the wrong switch but I decided that I would take it out of the box to see how well it worked. I took it out of the box and the wrapper, laid it on my bed, plugged it in and turned it on. I was very disappointed with the highest heat setting as it did not seem as high as I was used to so I decided to return the item. I contacted the seller and was told that its policy, which is viewable when you order the item on Amazon and which I had admittedly not read, does not allow for returns for hygienic reasons unless the item was never removed from the packaging. I responded by saying I had not used the product, just laid it on the bed and tested it. I was told I could return it at my expense ($14.00 for regular postal rate) and they would look at it. Long story short -- I was told it smelled of tobacco smoke (I have never been a smoker.) and had hairs on it so they would not accept the return. If I wanted the unit back, I would have to pay for the shipping back to myself. At first, I thought I would pay for the return but after several emails, I was told to contact someone else for instructions and by that time, I just gave up. It wasn't worth the hassle to me. Bottom line: it was my fault that I did not order the right model and it was my fault that I did not read the return policy before ordering (who does?) but I do think it is unreasonable that a person cannot take the item out of the packaging to see if the item works and will function as needed without being told the item cannot be returned. At the very least, since it is possible to purchase new covers for thermophores, the seller could deduct the cost of a new cover and return the rest of the cost to the buyer.

Great product

I needed a small heating pad for my neck. I love that this gets hot. But it is too large for the area I need a heating pad for.

Exactly as advertised. Worth every penny. Tried other ones that don’t even get hot. This thing is like the old-school ones.

Expensive but much better quality than the cheaper brands

This is the best heating pad I ever used. It Heat up really fast with auto on/off. Tried other heating pads from Walmart but they didn’t work that well for me. Must recommend this one.
