The Robert Downey, Jr. Collection: (Back to School / Charlie Bartlett / Home for the Holidays / Richard III)

These movies show a very yound Downey in Back to School. Funny geeky and altogether not Downey now. But still good. He is the kid everyone wanted as a friend in High School and College. In Charlie Bartlett he is a principal who needs to learn more about his daughter. Good movie, but Downey just doesnt fit the principal image. I cant see him doing that job. You keep waiting for him to tell someone off in his usual style. And in the final movie the Shakespeare role while Downey is good, there isnt much of him on screen to compare. Total surprise how he ends up. But then I never read King Lear. I never liked Shakespeare and this telling of it isnt much to go by.

Charlie and home for holiday are ok movies. The other two barely featured Robert. I really enjoyed the Charlie movie. It was smart and funny. And had a lot of Robert in it. He plays a principal at a wild high school. Lots of fun.

I'm not going to lie, I bought this set for the cover artwork, how sad is that? I already owned 3 of the 4 movies, but now I have Richard III to add to my ever expanding Downey collection. The package is attractive and slim and all of the discs were in great shape. I got this when it was on sale for $9.99 and with my Amazon points from my credit card...I paid $0.04, lol.All of these movies are great, but "Charlie Bartlett" is by far my favorite of the group. I have quite the affinity for Principal Nathan Gardner.This set is a great way to build up a collection if you haven't started on Mr. Downey's non superhero films!

Bought this to see the brilliant version of Richard III with Ian McKellan. No use for the other three films.

As an update to my previous review, I reordered the film collection, and received the correct movie this time (although there was no cover artwork, unfortunately), but the gif twas a great success!

If you love RDJ, you simply have to have this collection. Not necessarily the films I would have put together in one pack but I was happy to own them nonetheless. I am grateful I made this purchase.

loved Back to School and Charlie Bartlett, lost interest in Richard III when Downey's character killed off, and Home for the Holidays was better than I thought it would be.

Good movie for any Robert Downey, Jr. fan. His role was very good. The story line keeps up with teen problems that still exist todat.
