sturdy and effective
this is a well-made product. it is impossible to properly break a chain with an inferior gadget. it doesn't bend and it's sturdy. i highly recommend this product.

The chain breaker worked great. It is a bit cumbersome to use as you always seem to need a third or fourth hand to hold everything and align things, but I was able to repair a seriously kinked chain. There were no instructions that I recall. The whistle is a neat but totally superfluous item that is included.Note: Do NOT completely remove the pin from the chain link or you will find it virtually impossible to reassemble the chain and get the pin back in. You should leave the pin attached to one side of the chain, only pushing it far enough out to get the chain apart. I had to remove a link entirely and discard it and try again after finding I could not re-insert the pin with the tools I had.

Do Not Buy
Rating this a DO NOT BUY. This has poor construction with the metal being so soft it deformed after first use. Deformity in the area that holds the chain means bent chain pullys. Not worth the money.
