An exceptional page-turner story which keeps you hooked till the end. Compelling easy read & I got straight into the storyline from page one. The author's imagination goes into great depth of the characters' personalities, scenic settings & the day to day life of all from that period of time......beautifully written. Very interesting as history of pictish caves in fife some amazing artwork carved in the caves and would recommend a vist to see I've been a d have some amazing pictures and the ghosts of the past

I enjoyed reading this book - I am looking forward to sharing this in school. I can think of many KS2+ children who will love this (boys and girls) a well as older readers. A heroine, a hero, a mythic beast and a solid plot all make for a good read. This would make a lovely Xmas stocking filler for any free reader and/or an interesting guided reader. The introduction with the historical background was interesting too.
