Moved me to tears
This is probably Rachna Bisht Rawat’s best work. Her writing coupled with the beautiful stories she chose is just amazing. This is not a glorification of war, but an ode to all the men who volunteer to do the gory job of soldiering. This is a beautifully poignant book with stories of loss, heartbreak, sacrifice, courage, resilience and of people who still have humanity left after suffering in war. I would urge everyone, especially people with little knowledge of the Armed Forces to read this book. Jai Hind!

Light read. Must read.
The seasoned author builds on her previous books in this anthology on 1971 war. Well researched human stories that detail the battle tactics to a level of detail understandable by non-military readers. The victory of '71 was mainly in the east and yet many books focus mainly on the west where we called for a ceasefire. This book does justice - stories of east and west are given equal importance. Infact the story on the cover happened in the east!

Book is good, but the Dealer is absolutely not!
Though the book is a great creation with apt content, but I got a used book from the dealer which has things written with a pen i.e. can not be erased!Do read the book but better to buy it from an offline store rather than buying from here.I accept that I didn't check when I recieved, but the dealer is equally responsible for sending me a used book in the name of a "New one".I have paid for a new one, rather than a used one!
