Have bought these each year for 5 years
I have been buying this same glove for about 5 years. Usually I buy 2 pair a year. They feel good and fit well. Sometimes they last the summer and sometimes they wear out in the fingers in about 6 weeks. I suspect the difference is the length of my fingernails. Longer nails rub on the fibers and cut them. I need 2 or 3 pair of these in circulation each summer because I wash them after one day use. (I do a lot of gardening.) I usually buy either lime green or orange so if one wears out, I can keep the other and it matches my other pair. I'm in luck when the opposite hand wears out on two pair. Ha! This year I tried a different West County model and really like them too - 074AS in apricot.

Good Product -wrong choice
My wife had a pair of West County gloves which she loved, kept her hands warm in winter, were waterproof, had a soft liner which didn't chaffe her knuckles, and had good gripping ability. She uses them to work outside in the winter, taking care of bird feeders, handling bird baths, driving, etc. She completely wore them out, right throught the leather tipped fingers. However, this West County glove was not what she had. This glove is not warm, and not waterproof. I found out that the glove she wanted is called the womens waterproof glove by West County. She has decided to keep these to wear in the spring and summer when working outside and in the garden. So right now, cannot evaluate these gloves properly, and will have to wait till they have been in full use.

Best garden purchase I've ever made!
Love these gloves! I have been an avid gardener for 30 years and work with gloves on all the time. Until I purchased West County gloves I hated wearing gloves...but needed to protect my hands so gritted my teeth and wore them anyway. These are the BEST gloves I have ever used! They are uber comfortable and protect in all the right places. They also last longer than any gloves I have ever used. It has taken me 3 years to wear out 2 of the 3 pairs I originally purchased. This is unheard of for me! I have been known to go through a pair of good gloves in a couple of months with other brands. I use them for everything from hand weeding to tree trimming. I also don't protect them like I should. I mean I REALLY don't protect them like I should. I usually just toss them down when I'm finished with them and forget to clean them or lay them out to dry. I've left them out in the garden in the rain and mud more times than I can count. It doesn't seem to matter how I abuse them...they still hold up. I purchased the first several pair from my favorite garden center (Shademakers in Oxford, Ohio.) Unfortunately they no longer carry them so I had to go searching to replace my warn out gloves. I like to have several pair on hand so when one gets too dirty or wet to use I can continue gardening. These gloves can be washed in your washing machine, and even dried in your dryer. But usually I just wash them with strong hand soap while wearing them (just like washing your hands) and lay them out to dry in my garden shed.

Excellent quality but does not fit smaller hands
To echo the other reviews, these gloves are clearly of excellent quality. The fabric is durable/well-stitched and the composition (breathable, yet protective against thorns) is nicer than any other glove I've tried. Unfortunately while the gloves may be of good fit for the large sizes, the gloves do not seem to fit smaller hands. There is about 1/4-1/2" of space left at the tips of each of the fingers which increases to about 3/4" space when my fingers are bent (ie when grasping something). Because I lose the fine motor control of having fingertips, I then have a difficult time wearing these when doing any yard work that is not pulling very large weeds or pruning large branches. Not to mention your hands become quite clumsy with 1/2" of excess material at their tips. So for those with small hands, I recommend to keep looking.

Durable and comfortable
First of all, here's what these gloves are not for: they aren't for warmth. I've been able to wear mine at the height of summer without my hands overheating, but when I used them to pull bean vines off a trellis in autumn temperatures, my hands got pretty cold. They are also not for extremely fine work. I couldn't thin carrots with them on. That being said, I love them. They hold up well. I put them through a tough season of gardening, washed them up, and they are ready for another year. They also fit me, something that almost never happens with women's gloves. I have a broad, thick palm. Women's gloves rarely fit, and even men's gloves sometimes split at the base of the thumb. A large in these gloves fits perfectly, and the stretch fabric means they don't bind when I spread my fingers. By the way that fabric will snag and tear if used roughly enough. I caught mine on some chicken wire and tore a small hole in the back of one of the fingers. All season long, though, the hole didn't get any bigger. I continue to use them and will do so until something else wears out, which it shows no signs of doing yet.Update: It’s the summer of 2020 and I just washed the two pair I bought in 2013 and 2014. Some of the leather reinforcements in the palm will need to be glued down, but other than that the gloves are still going strong despite the fact that I ask a lot from them. Bravo, West Country!

Best Work Gloves Ever!
I have used these gloves for years and have been completely satisfied with them. They fit perfectly and are the most comfortable work gloves I've ever had. These gloves have intelligent design with breathable material, reinforced stress points and a terry brow wipe. The wrist has elastic with a velcro closure for perfect fit. They are strong and durable while allowing a level of flexibility other work gloves do not offer. I will never buy a different brand again.I am so impressed by these gloves that I recently gave my sister a pair since she uses work gloves for the many community beautification projects she volunteers for. She loves these gloves also, and told me they are the best, most comfortable work gloves she's ever had.So there you go, two high recommendations for these gloves in one review. As an added bonus, these gloves are environmentally friendly. As the packaging states: "Two 8 ounce plastic water bottles have been removed from the landfill to make this pair of gloves."
