Finally - this one's a keeper!
It's not the 75-year-old Foley I stupidly threw out several years ago (well, it was pretty beat up...), but it's the first of the several attempted replacements to make me happy. It's quite easy to put together and take apart, grinds smoothly and efficiently, it fits on standard-sized bowls and pots nicely, and all parts clean very easily - a good warm water rinse is often enough. The plastic body might initially put you off, but it's substantial, not flimsy, and they're right - that slight bit of added flexibility makes it SO much easier to assemble and also to use, than similar designs made of all metal. (I had one of those at twice the price and gave it to Goodwill after a few months, it was so frustrating to work with.) It's better than my old Foley because this has three discs - the discs have good size range from medium-grate to super-fine puree, just remember to put them cone facing up!The only small quibble is that like most mills now, it lacks that lovely little scraper rod on the underside that automatically swept what you ground into the bowl. A little hard-plastic spatula or scraper every few grinds does the job, but that's the only thing that keeps this from actually surpassing the antique Foley.

Well worth it
Great food mill. Sturdy, well made, easy to assemble and clean. Made short work of my apple sauce. Looking forward to a long life of caning.

Discolored ooze drips.
Easy to assemble, use and wash. Light weight, easy to sit on different bowls. Comes with two spacer to use between plates. Reviewed different food mills, all pretty much had problems with discolored ooze dripping. Chose Alisha food mill because it seemed no problem with discolored ooze, "wrong". Used first time followed directions. Put in a few cut up guavas to try out, no problem. Good job of separating seeds from fruit, not one seed went through. Lifted to scrap bottom, no problem, turned handle a few more time lifted again, this time in center of bowl grayish discolored ooze was dripping. Was able to scoop out before it mixed with guava pulp. Cleaned center bottom with towel tried again, same thing. Have to continue to lift after turning handle a few times to scoop out ooze and clean center. Disassembled, washed and dried completely tried again next day. Same problem with discolored ooze.Sent two emails to Alisha Home site about the oozing problem to see if they knew how to remedy problem. I never received a response. Very disappointed. Bought specifically for guava fruit. Used to peel fruit, used sieve and to remove seeds. Have a bad arm so this was making my arm worse.

Doesn't work at all
Totally impossible to use. The rotating axis immediately gets out of its lodging as soon as you start to mill. Yet, I gave it several tries, trying to think of the reasons why it didn't work. I don't know if this is the "lodging" that is no high enough, the rotation that is irregular and causes the axis to get out of the lodging, but this is a total waste of money. Plus the photo suggested that a vegetable peeler was supplied with the mill, but there was none. That said, I would have had a nice working mill, I would not care.

easy to use, hard to assemble
I am a home canner and love the ease of using a food mill. This one works great and comes with a few discs for different sized needs...but the initial setup of putting the disc in is really tough for me.

Great performance, thoughtful design, reasonable price
This is my first food mill. So far, I have only used it for processing a single huge 106 oz. can of whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes, but the results were perfect. It was fast compared to hand chopping with a dough blender and it did a much better job. There were essentially no seeds, and there was no oxidation. A stick blender can whip air into the sauce. The resulting sauce was exactly what I was hoping for. Assembly, disassembly, and cleaning were easy. I agree that the slight flex of the plastic body makes it easier to install and remove the blade and crank assembly. The body has a hole in its handle for hanging from a hook, and the blade and crank assembly took less storage space than expected. Of course, storing the three mill plates should not be an issue. I'm happy with the performance, ease of use, and price paid.
