Not so great
UPDATE: The grey plastic ring on the pink silicone holder popped open the next day and every day after for a week, no matter how hard I thought I secured it. Finally, I cut the whole thing down to one pink layer and wedged it atop the rabies tag through the metal ring. The plastic ring went in the trash. Waste of money. I Had also ordered one for my cockapoo puppy. I did the same hack for him. He loves to chew his tags. He’s working on getting a strip off, and is close. Since I trimmed the blue layer to the size of the tag, it’s harder for him to reach, but he tries. . original:My dog has several collars and tags, so I use those little hooks to easily move a tag from one collar to another. The county requires a big metal rabies license tag, so that is a separate clip - which means my little 13-pound cavapoo announces her presence with a loud JANGLE JANGLE. Rolls over in her sleep JANGLE JANGLE. I just quit having her wear the tag. But now we’ve added a new puppy to the family, and a visit to the vet reminded me I should put that tag back on her. What to do? I found this Thundertag and decided to try it.What I like: 1) It really does keep tags from jangling. There is NO noise, I guess because the cover is a soft rubbery surface, her ID tag just quietly bounces against it. 2) The plastic ring to secure the tag within the cover is easy to secure, even for someone like me who has trouble opening fussy little things. 3) You can easily trim the bottom off so it’s even with your largest tag(s).What I’m less excited about: 1) I ordered pink for Nora and blue for Oliver, my new puppy. In hindsight, I really should have gotten the clear ones. The color just draws more attention to the tags sure if I had clear ones, they would just disappear behind her regular tag. And this is because... 2) The tags are rather wide - which I understand since they want to accommodate all manner of tags, but on my small dog, it’s a little big. But she’s low to the ground and I’m probably about the only one who really notices that much. Maybe I could trim one or both sides a bit and try to melt the sides together; it could end up looking like a toddler’s art project. 3) I don’t know how durable the plastic ring is. I’ll just keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario it can always be replaced with a metal ring, although it would be a little more difficult to do.Bottom line: Clear cover to provide you with no jangle is the best option for the sound of silence.

rubber good quality; one best dog tag covers have used
1st purchase several years ago was 5 star; 2020 purchase, the plastic ring snapped because I tried to add metal rabies tag and plastic Home Again tag on plastic ring but not inside cover because holes do not match upfixed with strip of duck tape

A lifesaver with a white dog.
I have a white Pomeranian who constantly had gray residue left on her chest from her tags. I was going through the little silencers that went around the circumference of the tags. After some searching I stumbled upon this. It’s well worth the money. She no longer has the gray staining and no jingle! So far it’s held up great. It’s a bit hard to read her tags through, but nothing too bad. It doesn’t get stuck is her hair, what’s another bonus.

Works fine, but isn’t a perfect solution.
Our dogs have four tags...NYS license ag tag, rabies tag, pet finder service tag, and a tag with our address. It was tough to get all four in this sleeve, plus get the holes to match up for the ring. I did one, then realized if the dog gets loose, you can’t read our address. I ended up putting three tags in the sleeve and our address tag on the outside. Jingle a little, but not as bad as it was. Definitely measure your tags before you buy. I had one tag that wouldn’t fit, even by itself.

My dog chewed through it
***update*** I had to drop this down to 3 stars. While it did it’s job of silencing the tags and preventing the staining of my dog’s fur, she was able to chew through it.(I added a picture) We haven’t even had it a month. If your dog is a chewer, you may want to think twice about getting one.I bought this for my dog, not so much to silence the tags, but because her name tag turns her fur grey. It was tough to get her bone in the silicone due to it being a thicker tag, but I got it. I didn’t use the clip that came with it since it’s plastic-I used the metal circle that came with her name tag. She also likes to chew on her tags, so I will see how the Thunder Cover holds up over time and will update accordingly since this is the first day. So far, it is as expected and made of a durable silicone. I also like how you can still read everything.

Does the job.
I like it. Does the job well. The plastic ring makes me a bit nervous so I didn't put her actual name take in it. I do like the idea of the easy on ring but think it needs perfecting. Other than that it works great and keeps the tags quiet. The only thing better would be maybe sealing the individual tags in silicon that someone could cut open in dog got lost. This would offer a more individual fit because I can see how on a smaller dog it might look a bit silly. Rather have her look silly while being safe and the tagsnot driving me crazy at the same time.

fits smaller size tags perfectly
My dog is a Teddy Bear; her two tags are the smaller size heart and bone shaped ones. I ordered the smaller size ThunderCover. The holder is a little bigger than I thought it would be. I gave a rating of a 4 because it's a bit bulky under her neck, but she mostly wears her tags only for walks/short periods of time so I'm ok with it. Both of her tags fit in the ThunderCover with no problem. I feel better about the not having the noise of her tags so close to her ears. I recommend this product.

Works great!
It works! Finally I do not hear her tag all day long. I couldn’t find it in clear so purchased pink. It’s harder to read the info this way. I cut it in length because she plays hard with her brother and preferred to keep it as small as possible. Definitely change the ring to a metal one right away. I keep her rabies tag separated because I remove it when washing her collar in the machine. Will be purchasing in clear once they are back in stock.
