The size of the pieces and accompanying cardboard board are perfect and they are very well made. If you are interested on the more expensive wood chess set this manufacturer sells, this one will give you an idea of the shape and size of what the ones used for World Chess Championship tournaments look like. Obviously, these are still plastic and not as heavy as wooden pieces, but they handle well and seem they will last a long time. I also have a "Best Chess Set Ever" and can report those are pieces are heavier than this set, in case that is important for you. If you want it for travelling, say a camping trip, I think it should be fine if going by car. Otherwise, it you are travelling by plane, the box may be too big if you have only a carry-on bag. I think most people will enjoy playing with this set.

This is a plastic version of the official set used in WC and other top level FIDE events. The design is very nice and useable in either tournaments, club or home, Staunton design with a different crown on the King and very nice design Knights the only thing that should have been done better is the board, cardboard instead of at least vinyl/silicone. Overall a nice set that will last for many years (get a good mousepad board).

Overall, it's a good solid set. The pieces feel pretty good for plastic and have a decent weight to them. The outside container is nice and I like the algebraic notation on the board. For improvement: -The pieces come in cheap plastic bags. They should come in fabric drawstring bags. -The board started to fall apart after a year so I had to tape it together. They could have made that more sturdy

This is a great set for travel or home use. I have not had an issue with the weight of the pieces either, tbh. If you are looking for a quality, budget chess set, this is the one

What baffles me is how and why would you send a product looking this with it being sold as 'New'?! I believe this is exactly what would be classified as false advertising. Very disappointed! Two stars because the weight of the pieces I do like and the craftsmanship, but it doesn't help when the black pieces are scratched. Them being scratched I can be understanding with to a point because they are stacked in the same bag. However for such a brand I would recommend a different way of storing the pieces to prevent friction and by extension visible scratches. Good sized pieces and I do like the board and the weight of the board (and it being truly flat/levelled) and pieces I believe will serve me well outdoors.

Just wanted a set for my home. Happy with this.
