EXCELENTE MATERIAL

Yes only a three on this one, and for the reason that while this is good it does not excel, Marillion had done this kind of sound a number of times before and since. The songs are good but simply not great. They pass muster but they are not fantastic. If you have never heard the band before then this might make a five for you however if you have heard a lot of Marillion before this then this only just sounds like a lot of other Marillion tracks. I expected a great deal more from this group who are capable of doing more every time they produce a CD. Like Pink Floyd before them they should have taken the time to produce a disc which has the post production that makes a difference. Maybe they were being hounded by a Company for a release this is also a possibility and has been the bane of many groups before Marillion. When will these Music executives learn that greed does not assist the creative process, it only goes to stifle it...Spigomars

ジャケ買いしました。自分はジャンルを気にしないというか勉強不足でして「プログレ」とか言われてもどんな音楽か全然分からないような人間です。一曲目の「A Legacy」をワクワクしながら聴いた。暗めな感じで始まるんだなーとか思ってるとすぐ曲調が変わりノリノリな曲に。「A Legacy」がこのアルバムをよくあらわしてるかなと思います。暗め、落ち着いてるのからノリノリ、元気が出るような曲達がそろってる。自分が特に好きなのは応援ソングに相応しい「Rich」「Tumble Down The Years」です。無添加と言うか素朴と言うか表現が難しいけど手拍子を使ってたりして、聴いてて何かがリセットされるような優しくなれるようなアルバムだった。ジャケット写真のような音楽だったって思う。これが1999年頃の作品というのも驚き。個人的にずっと聴いてても飽きない名作になりそうな予感。
