Excellent explanations and practice pages. I needed an affordable book to review English grammar for my online TEFL courses. The perfect book for me.

As an adjunct professor of journalism at the University of Houston, I have become well aware of how students, in this digital world, struggle with grammar. Writing full sentences in what they would call a "formal style" is not second-nature to them. That's why I'm so glad this workbook is available, and I intend to put this book on my syllabi from here on out. Author McLendon writes in a coaching, cheerleading style, not lecturing or preaching. After each section, from parts of speech to verbs to nouns to sentence construction, she gives a few practice exercises, which I think is especially important -- to try out your new (or revived) grammar knowledge. I think this book would be especially helpful for non-native English speakers, who struggle with our lovely, but sometimes ornery, grammar. (I have seen this in my classes consistently.) But for ALL of us, this book is a reminder that grammar is not a pain, but a joy. Buy it or download it, and begin or renew your love of the English language, and of grammar's role in meaningful communication.

I am a TESOL student and wanted to learn grammar since my program doesn't teach it. I found this book to be very good book for beginners. However, since I am still learning I do not know whether there are any errors or omissions in this book. Otherwise, the grammar that's in the book is explained in a way that is simple. My only complaint is that the practice exercises in the book are not enough to make this a workbook. I wish there was a lot more exercises in here to help drill in the information.

I am pleased with how this book is laid out. It is separated into easy to follow chapters with frequent review questions and a chapter test at the end of each chapter. The answers are provided. Highly recommendThank you for fast shipping!!

Good book a lot of information. I'd say Jr high to high school age. Just not quite enough activities as I was hoping for

I am inly about half way through this book but i am enjoying it immensely. I was never very good when it came to grammar and spelling and struggled with it all my life. This book is helping me relearn what i never understood the first time around. Some of it i can breeze through while other areas are harder for me but i am learning. The book is straightforward and to the point with good examples and quizzes to help you see your progress. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a refresher course in English Grammar or people learning English. I think this is a very helpful workbook.
