I have been using this steel for a few months now and I am very happy with the quality of the tool. My old steel has gotten worn out and needed a replacement. This steel feels plenty hard and does a great job at freshening my kitchen knives. I use it every time I pull a knife from the block. I may be just imagining it but my knives seem to be getting better edges as I use them between sharpening, rather than more worn. This steel is used along with a strop for maintaining my kitchen knives. The he square handle gives a great handhold and is comfortable. The size works for my largest knives. This is a good tool especially for the price. I would definitely buy this steel again. I like it very much.

They wear out? I didn't know that and I'm not talking about this one which I just got but the one that came with the knife set. Keeping your knives sharp is super easy just a few strokes every time before you use it and boom razor. Now this one is miles ahead of the one that came with the knives and it works super fast.

After receiving this honing rod from Amazon I immediately put it to the test with a knife my wife was telling me wouldn't even slice through an orange.
