Very strong hickory smell but the dog seems to enjoy them.
My Shih Tzu, Missy, seems to enjoy these treats, though not any more than any other of her treats. She has an allergy to grains, so I have to buy all grain-free foods and treats for her. Most of the treats she has are hard and crunchy, which she seems to love. These Yumzies are soft to the touch and soft enough to break in pieces, but firm enough to hold their shape in the bag.The treats are a rectangular box shape. Since Missy prefers bite-sized treats, I break the Yumzies in half to give them to her. I am not a fan of the super strong hickory smell when I open the bag or on my fingers (I give her treats when I leave the house as she has separation anxiety and I don't want to run back to the kitchen to wash my hands every time). The bag says these treats are made in the USA (the manufacturer's address on the back is listed as Florida) but the bag art and even the title suggests more an Asian product. I like that the treats contain Omega 3 & 5 fatty acids. The vet had previously given me fish oil capsules to break over Missy's food but I found it messy, so this way she can still get her omegas in a more fun and less messy way.The 8 oz. bag I received has a label on the front which says "Limited Time 33% More! 8 ounces for the price of 6 ounces" I assume this to mean that, if I were to decide to purchase a bag at some later point, it might be a 6 ounce bag. Even at 8 ounces, I felt the price was way too high. In contrast, another of Missy's grain-free treats is Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. An 8-oz. bag of the Natural Balance treats is presently under 4 bucks here on Amazon. The only other of her treats that are soft, Wellness Pure Rewards Venison Jerky, are just over 6 bucks for a 6-oz. bag. The cost for this 8-oz. bag of Yumzies is presently more than 13 dollars. BIG difference! Enough of a difference that I took off a star for the high price when compared to Missy's other treats.Note that the "Feeding Guidelines" on the back of the bag say that these treats "are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Give 1-4 treats per 10 lbs. of dog's weight per day."3 stars

A Winner With My Dogs!
My first impression of these little treats came from the bag that held them. It's bright and cheery, upbeat and happy, that was nice. If you follow my reviews you know I have a lot of dogs, big German Shepherd dogs to be exact, and one little guy who often rules the rouse. Now, to see if they would like these treats or just leave them on the floor. I do give them big dog biscuits so this was going to be interesting. They watched as I opened the bag. They have noses that smell anything that might be a joy to them. I think they were smiling.I was impressed that they were soft. A few of my dogs are older and they do have some trouble eating the hard biscuits. I looked at them and said, "Who wants to review these yummy Hickory Bacon Flavor treats?" They all waited as I gave each dog one. They were gone in a flash and they all waited for another. So, did they like them? You bet they did, and I think my older dogs loved the fact that they were easy to chew and tasted great. I believe they were a little surprised. Yes, they were gone with one chew and one swallow, but they enjoyed it while it lasted. They are not a 'cheap' treat, but few are. However, if you have an older dog, they would greatly appreciate you giving them these and my dogs definitely loved the taste of them. So, I believe we have a winner with these little guys. Good product.

Made In The USA
As soon as I came back from the mailbox with this package in my hand my Dobie's tail went into high speed wagging. Somehow he knew that the contents were something he would enjoy. He watched me carefully as I opened the package and poured the contents into his treat jar. I gave him three of the treats to calm him down and he thanked me with a big grin and walked away, knowing that more treats would have to wait. He has had treats from this company before and loves them. These treats are a bit pricey but the quality makes the cost worthwhile.

And the vote goes to...
When I get treats for my dogs, I now expect the Dachshund to love anything I buy and my Pekingese to hate it. That's what happened with Nootie Yumzies Grain Free Chicken Treats. So, in order to give a better review, I am letting the neighbor's dog have the tie-breaking vote. And?She LOVES them. She can't eat them up fast enough and since she's on a diet, these are perfect for her. So, four stars to this nutritional good and yummy dog treat!

She Loves Them
My little Cairn/Maltese mix loves these treats! That's the best endorsement to my mind. I do like they are natural and don't have added grains. There is so much crap being added to dog and cat food these days that it's scary. It makes me feel better to be giving her something that has less rather than more. They are soft and can be divided if you want to make them go farther or have a very little dog like mine who really just needs a tiny bite to be happy.
