Shire Post Mint Duplex Worry Stone - Raw Copper - Hammered and Textured Combo

It arrived 6 days early! How's that for luck! Nicely worked piece; just the right weight.

I purchased this to help me through the anxiety I feel during some medical and dental procedures. This coin is very helpful in directing my attention to the sensation of my fingers on the coin rather than on what else is happening. The amount of texture on the rougher side is perfect for me and keeps my mind engaged on my fingertips. It's quite heavy and feels good in the hand, as well, and seems to be very high quality. I plan to purchase another to be sure that I always have one handy where I need it.

I have another coin from the same maker. This one is smaller, dual textured but sits differently in my fingers. Strange how it is colouring so quickly, the tarnish is starting after less than 2 weeks of carry.

Previously had the dual sided hammer finish, curiosity got me on the textured finish. I seemingly grab for this one over the dual hammer finish. Both are awesome products, but for me, I like the two varieties in one single piece. More dual texture designs are always welcome. Copper acts as an anti microbial, so there’s that benefit if you so choose to as well.

I need to start by saying I have anxiety and traditional worry stones are too smooth. I nerd something with ridges or texture like a thumb to worry, and I had high hopes for this coin because it is the only thing I've found with texture. Pros: the weighting is amazing, the craftsmanship is gorgeous, it fits right in your hand, it looks great and ks not obvious what it's for, the overall feel of it is pretty good. Cons: it is VERY sharp. I could not rub the ridges because each little pyramid point is sharp and it felt horrible to rub, like courderoy but metal. I did end up sort of pressing it into my thumb or palm and that turned out to be a really nice, grounding sensation. I would have preferred it to be more of a ridge or bump, but overall it's still a pretty good product and I'm not mad I bought it!
