Works well for what is says. Would be better if the tear is on the same side under the sealing as the food is sealed to the bottom side where the tear is located. Can create a mess if there are liquids.

The bags are of good quality at a fair price

I am single, and these bags last a long time, and I don't reuse them. I bought the USV20 Chamber Vac in May 2022 to help me save food cause Ziploc wasn't working anymore for me. I bought 6x10, 8x10, and 11x10 bags at the time, and now November 2026, I am getting more bags. I buy a bag of leg quarters and a couple trays of pork streaks every month. 250 bags do last for a long time. I am not out just low enough to need more.

I didn't realize Avid Armor sold different gauge pouches. I just assumed whatever sample pouches they include with the vacuum sealer machines is what they sell. If I knew they sold different gauge pouches, I'd have just bought off-brand pouches and saved some money. Live and learn, I guess. Both measured slightly under, but I'm going to accept that as manufacturing variance. You'd think 3.5 mil to 3.0 mil isn't a big difference, but I could easily feel the difference in my hand. For my use, 3 mil pouches are fine, as I don't need to seal anything with sharp bones or anything like that.
