Great studio vocal mic
Great vocal studio microphone, used for recording parts of our EP. Sounds much better than the MXL condenser mic used previously, much worth the money in my opinion.

The Blue Baby Bottle is an absolute gem.
The Blue Baby Bottle is an absolute gem. The sound is rich, warm, and detailed—perfect for vocals, acoustic instruments, and even voiceovers. It brings a professional polish to anything I record. It’s become one of my go-to choices in the mic locker—reliable, versatile, and always delivers a clean, balanced tone. Build quality is solid too. Easily one of the best investments I’ve made for my studio.

Beyond expectations
Originally, I had attempted to cancel the order to get the cheaper version but was late to the punch. Ended up being a blessing in disguise as the microphone quality sounds amazing. I had an old Blue Spark microphone from back in 2011 and it broke while I was moving place to place over the past few years. This microphone was far better quality which I didn't know I was missing until I used this one. Very clear and crisp sound, capturing only what I need it too and not all the extra crap in the background. They say this one has an almost vintage sound to it, but with my current effects rack, I can't be sure. All I know is it's got some class to it and I'm so glad I got it. I had been away from music for 3 years and since purchasing this, I've been recording week to week on a regular basis. Definitely happy with this and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to up their quality of their vocal performance.

Smooth like buttah.
Update: Received the replacement wicked fast! This mic is fantastic. So smooth, so natural. Although it is kinda pre eq'd and plug and play ready, it does respond well to eq changes and isn't hard to work with like other mid range mids. The shock mount is meh. Looks good. Feels good. But Blue mounts are known for a shorter lifespan. Dont let that stop you from getting this amazing microphone. Waiting on a replacement. First one has a nasty 100hz and below hum. I have cheap mics that don't hum as much. Package was sealed so it's not a janky return, it came from the manufacturer like that. Tried different cables, pre's, etc. No good. I'll update once I get the replacement. If it wasn't for the hum, it's one of the most natural sounding buttery smooth mics I've heard. Not in your face or pushy, yeah, I'm looking at you SM7B and NT1. If your mix is busy you'll have to make it up a little bit but that's an easy fix.

Does what it needs to
Good darker sounding condenser mic. My only complaint is that the switches feel extremely cheap. Everything else on the mic feels high quality. The mic is also very heavy. I’ve recorded saxophone and voice on it so far. For alto sax, it sounds great. Very clear and the high ends are not piercing. Soprano sax sounds okay on it. I would need to do more work with that to dial in a better sound. I’m sure it works well for all woodwinds, I would just experiment with placement. For male voice, it’s good. I would recommend speaking or singing at an angle and with a pop filter because it can be a bit boomy up close. With good mic technique and eq, it’s fantastic.

Almost As Good As the OG Baby Bottle
I had one of the OG Baby Bottle microphones before Blue had been sold, I believe my mic was made in Latvia at that time. I ended up trading that mic many years ago because I didn't love it on my vocals, but in going back to some of my old recordings, I realized that I REALLY loved that mic on acoustic guitar (pro tip, when recording label the mic name on your audio files in your DAW, i.e. Acoustic_Guitar_Blue-Baby-Bottle.wav). I bought this on sale and it's definitely very close to what the Blue Baby Bottle sounded like on those previous recordings. It's a bit bright for vocals, so I would use it slightly off-axis, but it might be the perfect fit for certain singers. I think a pair could work nicely for drum overheads depending on what type of SPL's you are looking at from the drums. For those of you in 2025 that are still unsure what type of mic can interface directly with your computer, this is an XLR microphone that requires an XLR mic cable to a microphone preamp with 48V phantom power to work. An audio interface like the Focusrite Scarlett is the link to your computer through USB, the mic would plugin to the XLR port on the Scarlett which would provide phantom power and gain. If you're looking for a mic that would plugin directly to your computer and just work, look at something like the Blue Yeti USB or Shure MV7, peace.

Very powerful microphone, sound quality is top notch. Does not come with an official "Blue" Pop Filter such as when you order from the official vendor. Will require your own leads. Initially there was a strange buzzing sound but after I unplugged and replugged it in it was gone. I've not had the same problem since.
