Is this cable considered balanced or unbalanced? How does is stand noise reduction wise?

It is balanced on the 3.5 mm end (TRS) providing a L & R signal coming from the two mono (R & L) 1/4 inch male plugs. It is a shielded cable.

Yes. I use it as a dual out from a usb soundcard to an AUX on a soundbar.

To verify, these splitters can be used with old CD players right?

As long as your CD player has 1/4 inputs it will. However, most CD players have rca inputs. If you are going out of your CD player using the mini plug, then whatever you are plugging into, needs to have 1/4" inputs.

Anyone know if the condutors (L/R/G) inside the cable are stranded or solid core?

As far as I can see there's no way to tell without ruining the cable, because the plug covers seem to be glued rather than threaded. If not, you can't just unscrew them with your hands. What I can tell you that this feels like a high quality cable.
