Lammes"Texas Chewie" Pecan Pralines

After spending two weeks visiting historic sites in East Texas, I found great German, Cajun, Tex-Mex, Texas barbeque, and Texas beef. The greatest taste treat I found was Texas pralines, both chewy and traditional. They were so yummy, I decided that they are a new food group--necessary to maintain good health. Since I couldn't bring enough back on the plane, I ordered the chewy ones from the New Braunfels Smokehouse, a wonderful purveyor of protein in the form of smoked meats that are to die for. My order arrived in two days--two pounds of my new food group--enough to share with all my friends. The people at the Smokehouse are friendly, and all orders are sent two day air and arrive in perfect condition. I highly recommend Lammes Texas Chewie pecan pralines and the New Braunfels Smokehouse. I especially liked the historical vignette telling how the candy company founder lost it in a poker game in 1885. His son then paid his father's debt of $800 and bought it back a few months later. That story makes the pralines even better.

Mail ordered these pralines as family Christmas gifts for 2016. Got lots of good comments back from family members saying they enjoyed these tremendously. Both of my sisters who received these pralines are picky foodies so I trust their opinions. I will definitely purchase these again.

The Pecan Praline was a wedding gift for a member our family in France. This kind of Pecan Praline is the best I have ever tasted and the family members in France really like them. I would recommend this to anyone who ask about delicious candy. I intend to send this candy to France anytime it is asked for.

There should be a "Law" against only selling this candy in Texas; or only being able to order it through Amazon. It is absolutely FANTASTIC, CAN'T STOP EATING THEM. I actually put them inside the pantry so that I don't see them each time I walk by; this way, I make them last just a little longer. Love, Love, Love, Love, Love Them!!!!!

When I lived in Oklahoma City and found these over the holidays at a local Dillards I was hooked. They are sweet but not too sweet and enjoyable. Although, they can be a tad pricey they are definitely worth every dime.

I only got to eat a few! After tasting these, my husband hid them so he could eat the rest! Yum!

These are to DIE for!! THE BEST EVER!!

We had a caramel contest. Texas Pralines and Abbott's caramels of Hagerstown, Indiana tied.The Russians like the pralines best.
