The absorption properties of this shield are dense and much better than a standard lighter weight single layer foam system and more adjustable with the 5 panels that can be completely flat, or bent inward to varying degrees. This is a bit heavier than I realized, so one must be sure that their microphone arm is able to handle the extra weight, or get an additional clamp arm system to attach this to.The build is very good, from the sound absorption materials to the metal pieces in the back and the front. When not in use, this is able to folded back easily and put back in the box if needed. This not only looks professional, it does appear to be of a more professional quality for stepping up from a basic set-up.While the folding panel isn’t very big, it’s a good size for when one is needing a bit more matte sound and further removing ambient sound and working more directly with even cleaner audio. Seems pretty sturdy. I have fixed an at2020 xlr mic to it and I am pleased with the results. I do stick my head in close to the mic and have the sides wrap around as much as they can.
