Deep Red PSP 2000 Series Full Shell Cover Housing Replacement with Button Set

Got it for my son's psp(don't want him to use mine, so I got him a used one), can't stand looking at it all taped up just for it to work. So I ordered this, seeing it's pretty cheap and it comes with everything you need. It did arrive earlier than expected, which was cool considering it's all the way from Hongkong. Pulled up Youtube and their own online guide in breaking down the psp and slapping this one on. Took me about 3 hours through the whole process, would've been much shorter if not for that damn bottom screw! A couple things to remember when doing this, use the original screws again, the ones that come with this are really cheaply made. Make sure you have your own screwdriver also, don't depend on the freebie included, it was only good for two screws before it broke. My son has had this case for about 10 months now, granted he's only six so he doesn't really "take care" of it. The battery case has broke, we had to tape it down again. And the bottom side part of the case if loose so more tape! I'd still recommend this to anyone else needing a new case. Just make sure you know your way around electronics or really good at following instructions. Even if it is cheaply made, so long as you take care of it, as you should anyways, should last you for a while, longer than the investment of time and money you put in.

However, it came with none of the detailed screws or screwdriver and it came without instructions! I had to figure out how to do this by watching some genius on youtube tinker with his, and the fact that it came without a power switch can be a deal breaker, especially if the one on your psp is shot(luckily mine wasn't). Took me roughly 5 hours to do without the instructions and you're going to have to fiddle around with the case screws to get the buttons feeling just right.I would only recommend this product if you have extensive experience in electronics because this replacement is a long and tedious process, and its even more difficult without instructions. I'd buy from this guy again only because the alternative's shipping time is so extensive.

Was very poor quality plastic. It was extremely brittle, and prone to cracking in certain areas. (When installing the UMD Door sprong for one..)I wasn't very happy with this product. It was pretty frustrating when it finally arrived. The finish causes smudging like no other, the replacement buttons are pretty poor. It did not have a power button, the stock one tended to stick. WIFI button was also a joke.Also did not include the screw driver so I had to use some cheap dollar store ones.At the moment I ended up junking it, my OEM PSP case was in poor condition so I'm now sitting on a pencil case full of parts until I find a more quality case.

The online instructions provided by ValueDeluxe recommends using the original screws for the replacement shell. They said pre-threading will make reassembly easier. I am glad they said so, otherwise I would have never discovered that the screw mounts were not made for the original PSP screws. Pre-threading caused the screw mounts to bulge and develop stress fractures. I stopped disassembling my son's PSP until I get a reply from ValueDeluxe. They should not recommend using the original screws if it does not fit the product.UPDATE 1: I discussed the assembly problem I encountered with ValueDeluxe. They agreed to send me a replacement faceplate. The original PSP screw is longer and slightly thicker than the ones provided with the replacement case.UPDATE 2: I finally received the new faceplate. ValueDeluxe has pre-threaded the screw mounts for me. I raised my rating of the product by one star because of the excellent customer service. I did not make it a 5 star rating because of two problems that came up after installation. First of all there is a gap at the bottom of the shell cover near the headphone jack. It is caused by the warped plastic shell. The second problem is the replacement buttons have tiny air pockets embedded in the mold that appear as bumps on the surface of the buttons.I ended up using two parts from the original case. The original H-shaped metal which holds the UMD door. The one provided with the replacement shell is thin and easy to bend out of shape during assembly. And then there's the spring which helps close the UMD door. The replacement spring does not provide the same tension as the original.As of 1-1-2013 the online guide provided by ValueDeluxe still recommend using the original screws of the PSP for the replacement case. This should be ignored if anyone wants to avoid the problem I encountered from the beginning.

The setup to this cover is tedious and frustrating... but well worth it. The red is vivid and gorgeous, not to mention, it even comes with a mini tool set and replacement screws~ The buttons looks great as well. The cover even has the sony logos on it!! Great buy! Just a warning for those who don't know... you will have to strip apart your PSP. Happy.. working?

Awesome product. This thing fits almost better than the stock shells on my psp. Very complete kit. Even comes with a nice walk through on how to replace your self. Definitely worth the money. This is a great value.

It doesn't go together quite right the buttons are uncomfortable and the side panels were all grey and the memory card slot was red it didn't even match you can't even see the l and r bumpers and I had to use the old side panels on the casing
