I’m a pretty experienced cook with good culinary skills but I wouldn’t attempt most of the recipes in this book. Some have over 30 ingredients with complex processes that are very time consuming. I’m sure everything in the book will taste and look amazing if you like the challenge but it is beyond the home cook. Get James Martin’s French Adventure instead!

I have eaten at Benoit at least twice every time I'm in Paris. They serve the Savarin -- too yummy. i can't wait to bake it myself. Benoit serves in with whipped cream and choice of cognac to pour over the cake. amazing

I just received this book and the recipes look so amazing!! Cant wait to dive in!! There is a whole section gloriously dedicated to the fifth quarter with scrumptious sounding classics. The desserts also caught my eye. The reason I docked a star is because the intro bit about the restaurants is a self indulgent, prolonged stroking of Chef Ducasse's ego. I cant stand pretentiousness like that.
