200N Gas Struts Heavy Duty
I was able to make an exceptional change by using this device to convert a storage bench that had a hinged lid. It is possible to avoid the possibility of accidentally crashing into anything thanks to the automated slow-lowering mechanism, which guarantees a regulated and smooth drop. A feeling of sophistication is added to the entire design as a result of this, in addition to the fact that the storage solution is made more secure. They are suited for a variety of applications that need a support system that is both dependable and long-lasting since their 200N rating generates a strong lifting force. Whether the lid is in the completely open position or in the phase when it is gradually closing, the sturdy construction instills confidence that it will stay firmly in place. A touch of luxury is added to the experience by the gas struts, which make it easy to retrieve the objects that are kept within, and the soft closing function. The storage solution is transformed into a sophisticated piece of furniture as a result of this update, which is not the most obvious but has a significant influence.

Works great but instructions could be better. Prevents chest lid from slamming on kids fingers!
The media could not be loaded. I installed this on a large chest for my son to prevent slamming the lid on his fingers. Instructions and installation dimensions weren’t the easiest to follow but the hinges are sturdy and operate great. The dimensions are given in tenths of an inch instead of fractions so, unless you have a scale, you are forced to approximate the dimensions on your measuring tape. After figuring out the correct positioning, the installation is pretty simple. There is now zero chance that the lid can slam shut. These hinges took my hope chest refinish/upholstery project to the next level as well as made it safe for my son to use. Would have been five stars if the installation instructions were simpler and clearer.Tips for quicker installation: First, install the lower bracket using the two given dimensions between the bracket center point as measured from the back and top of the box. Then, install the fully extended hinge onto the lower bracket with the single screw provided. Then, hold the lid open at an angle of 75 degrees while marking the top hole location of the upper bracket on the inside of the lid. I used a digital protractor to ensure proper angle. You will need to uninstall the hinge from the lower bracket to mark the lower hole location of the upper bracket. Drill marked holes and install hinge at all locations. Done!Drilling tip: Wrap a piece of tape on your drill bit at 1/2” from tip. This will give you a depth mark to prevent drilling through the sides/lid of your box.

Easy and fast
I’m really pleased with these pneumatic lid lifters! They’ve made a big difference in how smoothly my cabinet doors open and shut. They’re solidly made, and I got them at a much better price than what I saw at the big stores—those were almost twice as much. These are just like the ones that came with my new cabinets, so I’m happy I found them and was able to make my older cabinets match. I also needed some gas shocks for an old chest to help slow down the lid, mainly for safety with the kids. Even though there’s nothing harmful inside, they tend to get curious and open the lid, so I wanted to make sure it closed slowly and safely. The installation was a breeze, and the shocks work perfectly to slow the lid. They feel sturdy, so I’m confident they’ll hold up. The instructions were easy to follow, and the whole setup was simple.

OK but not heavy duty, not even medium
The media could not be loaded. This works OK but doesn’t keep my relatively light lid (<10 lbs) from dropping down quite rapidly. I use two hinges. This video is after 3 years use but it’s always been pretty much the same. I am now looking for a true heavy duty hinge to make things easier for delivery drivers.

fantastic
I installed these on a large horse tack box, which has storage on the interior of the lid. Because of that, the weight of the lid can vary a lot, depending on what's loaded. I've had problems with that when using the friction-disk type lid stays because you have to tighten or loosen an adjustment screw to tune them to the lid weight. Even without changing the mounting position on these, I found they soft closed well, in a range of 10 to 25 lb total lid weight.

Great lid support for DIY Murphy Bed Cabinet
The Douper 200N Gas Struts work very well and were perfect for my project.I built a hinged lid on top of a horizontal Murphy Bed that needs to be opened 90 degrees and held in place to open up the bed. The lid weighs 25 pounds, and a single gas strut was all I needed to manage the load.It was a little tricky to figure out the mounting position because the lid is more of a crown sitting on top of a cabinet designed to look like a piece of antique furniture. The instructions provide measurements for a more standard box design that you have to “translate” to a piece of furniture where the lid is a box and not a flat panel. To make this work I used a scrap piece on the side of the cabinet to attach the lower part of the hinge in a trial location. Once it was attached, I marked a connection point on the lid with it opened to 90 degrees where I wanted it. The first attempt was pretty close but did not allow the lid to close all the way. So I shifted the strut down which got things working perfectly.I definitely recommend these struts.
