Wonderful twists and turns; a wild ride befitting this cross-country mission, and cameo appearances all over the place!
This installment of the Cut & Run series is a journey which pits the FBI against the CIA...Corrupt government officials,A contract killer,A clueless boyfriend,Bomb threats,Stolen vehicles,Cavity searches,Five States,Four dogs, two giant cats,& some of the hottest Ty & Zane moments ever...(Note: I recommend reading Warrior's Cross before this book so you have the benefit of Cam & Julian's backstory. It's not required, but it will enhance your enjoyment.)Our boys have been called on a Black Ops mission by Director Burns. The Mission: Escort Julian Cross from Chicago to DC without anyone getting killed... As usual with Ty & Zane the non-killing/dying clause in their mission is not an easy one to accomplish...We get several cameos from beloved characters seen in previous books:- Cameron and Julian from Warrior's Cross.- Nick O'Flaherty from Divide & Conquer- Deuce Grady from Sticks & StonesThe cameos served to make all those gentlemen even more lovable... I even have an admiration for Nick despite his unflattering behavior in the last book...In the midst of all the danger, Ty & Zane are moving forward in their relationship. They're sharing secrets and becoming more tender, and the love between the two is a wonderful thing to see... Though they still have moments where they want to strangle each other. The plot line in this one kept me guessing until the very end - much like Cut & Run... I do love a book with enough mystery to add to the thrill of the mission. The romance was spectacular. The humor was perfection. The characters were outstanding. The suspense was amazing...I have officially added this series to my Favorite Romantic Series Shelf! It took me five books and one spin-off to solidify my devotion to the series... Much like Ty & Zane's relationship, it has been a gradual buildup into an unstoppable love for me.

This series is my happy place
I think I may have said this before; I’ve fallen in love with this series and its two main characters. In fact, I think I could happily spend my days doing little else besides read about Ty and Zane. I mean what’s not to love. The reader is given heart-stopping thrillers, featuring two hot FBI agents with a wicked sense of humour and smart tongues who happen to be involved in one of the most fascinating love stories while trying to stay alive. The ending of the last book, ‘Divide and Conquer’ was a bit of a cliff-hanger. Just when I thought Ty and Zane would find the time to enjoy each other for a while, Ty does a runner, leaving Zane confused, frustrated and alone. When Zane is send on a mission he doesn’t know the man he’s to work with is his partner and lover. It is a welcome reunion but not one they can enjoy for long since the operation they’ve been sent on is filled with danger from the very first moment.Enter Julian and Cameron from ‘Warrior’s Cross’. All Ty and Zane know is that they have to get Julian to Washington alive and as quick as possible. Julian is convinced that allowing himself to be taken there is the equivalent of signing his own death warrant and doesn’t come easily. The fact that the innocent in every possible way Cameron also comes along for the ride only complicates matters. What starts off as a battle between Julian and the two agents soon turns into the four men fighting together against what appears to be a CIA operation to kill Julian. But people and things are not quite what they seem. Sometimes those who appear to be your enemies turn out to be friends and those who should be trustworthy let you down. And that’s just the thriller part of the story. When Ty and Zane reunite there is some soul searching to be done. And when these two characters delve into their hearts, it leads to beautiful scenes. Not in the least as a result of Ty’s refreshing and utterly charming honesty.Asked why he left while Zane was sleeping, Ty answers:“I was afraid... I was afraid if I woke you and looked into your eyes I wouldn’t be able to go. And I had to go Zane, I had to.”As the story progresses, Zane and the reader find out more about Ty’s past, and with it comes an understanding of the man he is, and the reason’s he has for doing what he does, even when it means hurting the man he loves and himself. Which makes it all the more touching when he asks Zane:“Next time...next time I need to go, will you go with me?”Or when he says:“I was always yours. (...) Because... you make me the kind of person I’ve always wished I was.” TyWhat I love about these books is the description of Ty and Zane’s deepening connection. I adore the way they develop together, get to know and understand each other better and grow ever more comfortable in their relationship. And the addition of Julian and Cameron’s perspective in this book means that the reader is giving new insights into Ty and Zane; as the heroes of Warrior’s Cross share their perceptions of the FBI agents, the reader is given the opportunity to expand the picture they have of our heroes. In fact, the changing dynamic between the two couples was fascinating; from outright hostility through begrudging cooperation and admiration to something that could easily have turned into friendship if the circumstances had been different. The progression is natural, at times funny and ultimately beautiful. But the best part about this book and the whole series is, was and always will be the relationship between Ty and Zane. I live for those moments when we’re given a glimpse of how they see each other.“But then, Zane supposed that was part of Ty’s charm, the jumbled ball of yarn inside his brain that no one could unravel.”Not to mention the moments that have you teetering between a smile and a few tears.“I can’t remember a time that you weren’t the first thing I thought of, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don’t care what stands in our way.” – TyThe books in this series have it all; danger, adventure, two fascinating men who happen to love each other despite the apparent impossibility of their situation, laugh out loud moments, angst and very hot passion. I could continue reading these books forever. This book, like all the prequels was filled with quotable sentences. I had to use all my restraint to limit myself to those I’ve used above. I will add one more because sometimes a sentence is beautiful and worth keeping just because it tells a simple truth:“Life is hard and confusing, Zane. Love doesn’t have to be.”

Ty and Zane and the road trip from hell
Armed & Dangerous picks up right where Divide & Conquer left off – Ty and Zane are reunited pretty quickly after Ty’s little flake out and they have a very sweet reunion. Then they’re off on a crazy road trip to deliver two prisoners to FBI headquarters – but the prisoners are Jules & Cam from Warrior’s Cross so there are lots of hijinks along the way. (I still think Julian is kind of boring and I still don’t know what he sees in Cameron – and Cameron STILL didn’t know what Julian’s real occupation was – because he didn’t WANT to know…the man is just plain…weird). Now that Zane is all out with the “I love you's” - he and Ty have sort of taken it to the next level – so there is more intensity in their relationship. The same witty bantering, the same sweet & hot chemistry, only everything is taken up a notch. The plot for once is reasonably plausible and not too convoluted. Deuce makes an appearance which is cool and some things get worked out with Nick who seems to genuinely regret his drunkin loosey-gooseyness – and Ty makes it very clear to Zane that he would give up his friendship with Nick if Zane needed him to.I’m ready for the next installment and I’m getting seriously concerned about what I’m going to read once the series is over.

A good series
This is a review for the entire series, not just this one book. The series was recommended to me on social media by a friend of a friend who said it was different from most male/male books as the focus was on the plot, characters and story-line rather than the sex. Thus, I decided to give the first book a go; I really enjoyed it and ended up buying, reading and enjoying the entire series. As the person recommending it to me said it is not all about the sex. In fact the sex does not make up a great part of the series; yes, there is a fair amount of sex and there are some detailed and long scenes. However, it doesn't seem forced and step-by-step, it feels very real and about two men in love, not just two men having sex. Also, for the most part the sex was a necessary part of the books and moved the story forward rather than just being there in order to titivate.I got caught up in the world of Zane & Ty and enjoyed the case aspect of the books as well as the personal aspects. It showed a different side to the FBI from what I had hitherto seen or read. All of the characters were real and far more than just cardboard cut-outs - even those who had very small, at times 'walk on', parts. The writers are clearly fanfic writers (which is not a criticism or a negative thing, quite the opposite) who have branched out into mainstream writing and have, for the most part, made an extremely good job of doing so. The fact that I did read the whole series is proof of that. It is a series I thoroughly enjoyed and read all the way through without breaking off to read any other books. So why have I only given it three stars? Well, because there were a few things which irked and even irritated me and spoilt to an extent my reading of the series.Firstly: Why, oh, why, oh why, with twenty-six letters from which to choose, did the writers decide to give both leading men surnames that began with the same letter? That's one of the huge no-nos in writing. It completely spoilt the first book for me, as every time the surname was used by anyone other than Zane or Ty, I had to pause and remember (even go back on occasions) who was being spoken to or about. That even happened a few times in later books. Given in one of the books the authors use a similar thing when they give another pair of lovers the same initials but reversed, I'm guessing they thought it was cute or something - it really wasn't; it was very annoying.Secondly: The chapter lengths in a lot of the books were far, far, far too long. Twenty, thirty, in some cases forty minutes for a chapter (and I'm a pretty fast reader) is a ridiculous length.Thirdly: The formatting in some books could have been better. There was a lack of proper hyper-links in some of the contents pages (i.e. you couldn't go to a particular chapter) & also the fact that a couple of the books only allowed you to see the reading time of the whole book rather than the length of individual chapters. These mistakes are unnecessary as it is so easy to create a contents page with links to chapters.Fourthly: The price. I bought the ebooks and thought, especially given the formatting in some books, them to be somewhat expensive for what they were. I would have expected them to have been priced at a least a pound less than they were.Would I recommend the series? Yes, insofar as it's a good, well-written, gripping series with very good characterisation and plots and a male/male romance where the sex is not the main theme of the books. On that score it's very recommendable. However, due to the above mentioned 'issues', at the price the books are I'm not certain I could wholeheartedly recommend the series - not without mentioning the cons as well as the pros. All that said, it is a series which I shall reread.

Didn't think it was possible but it's better than the last one
This book features Julian and Cameron from Warrior’s Cross and while it’s not necessary to read that first I would.I love this book. For a long time Divide & Conquer was my favourite. And like I said in my review whenever I think of Ty & Zane the first image I always have is the dash to the aquarium. But this book is all that and more. I love the dry sarcastic humour. I had to stop reading last night because I couldn’t stop giggling and my hubby was trying to sleep. You know what it’s like once you start?Anyway this book is brilliant, I’m not going to give spoilers but I was glued to every page and I’ve read this at least three times now.“Oh look, Mr. Rubber Glove Man, he has a bomb. Och, we missed our plane.”....“You need a Valium or something,” Cameron said under his breath as he tried to hurry enough that Ty wouldn’t drag him.“Yes, I do. I should also be given a cigarette after what that TSA agent did to me,” Ty snapped.“We apologize for the necessity of the strip search. But it seems you have a reputation for… producing keys.”Ty shrugged. “Don’t worry about it, that’s not even the first one I’ve had this week,” he said, voice wry.Original review.Wow..if Ty and Zane aren't enough they're joined by Julian and Cameron from Warrior's Cross so this was always going to be a good book but it's even better than that it's just...words fail me, you just have to read it and see for yourself

fantastic series
Review of books 1 - 8Where have I been? How could I have not read this series until now? The Cut & Run series is a must for MM romance readers.FBI Special Agents Ty & Zane appear outwardly different but we soon see they are similar in many ways. Ty, with his rep for being difficult to work with, likes to ruffle suited Zane's feathers but Zane has many surprises up his sleeve. Each book features its own suspense plot which, although focusing on Ty and Zane, draw in great secondary characters (members of their families, colleagues, marine buddies). This series isn't insta-romance, it's a slow sizzle as 2 pig headed men get to know each other through the job. They have to rely on each other, trust each other & look after each other, building a bond which although tested to the max, withstands every challenge coming their way.Be prepared for laughter, tears, uncertainty, despair, tenderness and smoking sexual chemistry combined with truly excellent suspense plots.Love love love this series. Ty & Zane are THE couple of MM romance.

More than excellent
This is the best book that I have read Its the last in a series that I have been reading and which I did not want to end.The stories in the series are excellent full of interest and as its the last in the collection you finally get to know what happens to all the charaters especially to the two guys who have had such a difficult time with their relationship This is a series worth reading in more ways than one apart from the attraction between the two main guys there is also a lot of action and mystery in the stories as well as lots of interesting people Its a pity that its the end of the series.Great writing and stories

Couldn't Put it Down!
Another brilliant book in the Cut and Run Series. I read warrior's Cross before this book which was also a wonderful read as it gave a really good insight into Julian and Cameron two of the characters in this book. Again this book is filled with loads of tension, killings and two crazy in love FBI Agents who are trying to win the war in their private and working relationship. I am totally hooked on this series and only have two more books to read, then I will be counting down the weeks till the 8th book comes out in March 2014.Highly recommended!!
