I’ve used the matte paste for about 2 years now and the thing I love most about is how easy it is to wash off. Unlike other products, you tend to need 2 washes to get it completely off but with gentleman’s republic you just need one. I have a lot of hair so I thought I needed a lot of paste to style my hair but, you just need a finger tip amount to perfectly style your hair. With that, it keeps the style of your hair all day.

I get great hold from the Matte paste without leave my hair greasy, crunchy. or wet looking. I have tried several products over the years and this is by far the best I have used. I have found that It is easy to apply and washes off your hands without leaving any sort of residue. In the past, I was an American Crew Fiber user, but I like this product better. The only downside for me is the cost. I usually get it cheaper from my hair stylist.

I am not sure what every else thinks of this product or how they take care if their hair but when I use this If I wash my hair will only water yo wash out the paste it leave my hair nasty . If I use shampoo and conditioner its better but still leaves my hair very very rough . I use the gel from gentle man's republic and that is something totally different . Leave my hair feeling normally after I wash it out either with soap or just water.

As with all of Gentlemen Republic's products this too is excellent. The hold is incredible and it washes out like nothing. I'm not a fan of the wax paraben prducts that have a hard time washing out but this stuff is not like that. Highly recommend: low shine, strong hold, easy cleanup!

I ordered the version with "Scent: Clean/Fresh" but it smells really bad. Aside from that, the hold is excellent and it easily washes away with shampoo.Returning it and will order "Gentlemen Republic Classic Pomade - Medium Hold & Medium Shine, Water Soluble, No Beezwax, Made in USA - 4 oz, Ideal for Classic Styles" with Scent: Fresh Aqua.

I keep it on reorder because it’s the only hair product I enjoy. Keeps what little hair I have left in place and doesn’t look all gooey. Nice and dry like the good lord intended

I love this product mainly because it doesnt leave a shine to my hair like the gel does. The matte paste works great and i love the smell of it.

I tried it first at my barber shop and I loved it. Not only you get a great natural hold - and not greasy nor shining, nor wet looking - but it smells good and it's water based so it does not leave your hands sticky. A great product.
