Amazing Product! Worked great on my 9 year old
I wish I would have known about this product 2 years ago when my daughter first started getting canker sores. She will be 10 years old in November. But for the last 2 years she gets these sores on the inside of her lips (top and bottom) and on her gums at least once a month. They are very painful for her and she is very uncomfortable. I contacted her pediatrician and was told that it had to just run it’s course and there really isn’t anything she can take to make them go away. WRONG. After doing a lot of research and reading a ton of reviews I took the leap and purchased this product. She had a sore on her bottom lip. After I put the tablet on, she had it on all day and she had no problem eating. Prior to using this, She really wasn’t eating because she kept saying it hurt. When I put this product on her lip I used a whole tablet. Next time I will cut it in half. It was just too big for her small mouth. Also, it took a long time to get to the gel-like stage. I waited for like 90 minutes and it still wasn’t gel like. She fell asleep and when she woke up it was gel like. Again, I think it was because the product was too big and I should have but it in half. On day 2 she didn’t even need another one. She said she felt great. The pain was gone. I could still see the sore but by day 3 it was totally gone. I totally recommend this to anyone who suffers from canker sores. It’s amazing!

Amazing DenTek Canker Cover Patch works miracles...
I’ve had canker sores all my life and have just found out about these patches. I found that using one of these patches was unusual to say the least. Based on where the sore may be in one’s mouth, it could be awkward to keep the patch in place. However, once it is in place it remains there for 8-12 hours until it dissolves completely. The patch can sting a tiny bit at first, but nothing compared to what a canker sore feels like. After the patch is dissolved, the canker sore was almost entirely healed and it was barely there. These patches are amazing and well worth the $9 I paid. I used to use orajel for pain relief, which worked fine, but these patches relief pain and heal the sore. Amazing!

No more pain
I had a particularly bad canker sore in my mouth on the inside of my lower lip. After trying out various salt water rinses and lightly applying 3% hydrogen peroxide I turned to the wise internet oracle called Google for help; which is where I discovered this product. So right off the bat I was skeptical, not to mention these things aren't particularly cheap for only getting 6 patches, but the pain was really bad and eating hurt like crazy, so I didn't have much of a choice. So I'm just going to get the huge positive out of the way: They work. They numbed the pain, and my canker sore did get much smaller within two days and heal completely soon after. Although it does sting a bit, but not anything too bad. So that being said the product does work as advertised and it is something I would recommend. However, there are some things I wasn't so crazy about either. It's medicine, so it tastes god awful, like not as bad as bananas or that sickly sweet fake cherry flavor, but still pretty bad. That's excusable though, medicine isn't supposed to taste good and honestly, if this thing was as delicious as a candy cane on a cool December day in Northern California I'd be very concerned.I put these things on at night before bed and after I've brushed my teeth for a very good reason. They dissolve quickly and get really sticky. In fact it kept sticking to my gums and the edges did slightly pull off. For that reason I cannot recommend putting one in and going about your day as daily activities such as eating and drinking are moderately uncomfortable. Also they expand a lot, so I really think it would make eating very difficultAlso they are very slow to dissolve. I would wake up in the morning, and some of the cover would still be there. While about 90% of it was dissolved, there would still be that remaining 10% left over that would clear up within a few hours of waking up.However I can't stress enough, they really work, and even when I went about my day before bedtime without the cover, my sores were much less painful.I'm very glad I found this productEdit 1: My review says that they dissolve quickly and later says they slowly dissolve. To clarify once you put them in your mouth, they will begin to dissolve almost immediately, however they are slow to completely dissolve. Hope that cleared any confusion

They work but YUCK!
I read the reviews for this and was prepared for the weird spongey texture that everyone warned about but I was not prepared for how insanely STICKY it got. I put two patches on my lower lip, one further down between my gums and my lip, and one was placed higher near the opening of my mouth at the curve of my lip so the patch kinda pointed toward my top teeth. I HATE the taste of menthol and this tastes like menthol with something else super chemical-y. So I just decided to go to bed so I didn't have to taste it.Well, the patch closer to my lips GLUED MY MOUTH SHUT all night. These things expand. A lot. And they let off this sticky goo that was all over my lips and STUCK TO MY TEETH. I literally had to scrape the goo off my lips and teeth. But still, these patches are huge and looked like I had a huge sticky pustule on my lip which also was big enough to make my lip look swollen. I followed another reviewer's advice and ended up wiping at the patch to "shave it down" a bit, which made one of my canker sores bleed when it hadn't bled before.Once I did all that, the patches worked like a charm and kept my mouth pain free for most of the day.But I will never use these again. They were genuinely awful.

This new design is much less effective
I wish I had read the recent reviews. This used to be the most effective canker treatment I have ever used. Easily a five star product. Last time I had a canker sore, I used the last in my box so I went ahead and ordered 3 boxes (for the better value). I figured, "why not?" I might as well get stocked up. That was apparently when the product change took place, and I didn't notice until yesterday when I went to use one from the new boxes. For context, the product previously looked like a tablet. It was even scored down the middle so you could break it in half if you wanted, although I never did. When you placed the white side on the sore and held it there for a few seconds, it would form such a strong bond with the skin as it drew in moisture. After the bond was formed, it would become gel-like and effectively protect the skin even if you used it on your tongue. If you removed the gel too soon, your skin might feel weird but that's only because it was working its magic with menthol to numb it and whatever else to seal the skin so your body can repair itself without getting re-injured.Contrast that to the current product, which is a super-thin clear semi-rigid plastic-like patch with very mild adhesive. It will not bond effectively with the edge of the tongue like the previous product did. I tried using it so I could eat without pain, but it doesn't stay in place long enough. I have to nurse the patch and use a mirror to make sure it remains in the correct location. The old patch used to just slowly dissolve (it was edible) as you ate, while protecting your skin. This new patch just falls right off and gets swallowed whole if you're not careful. Also, the new box says it should last around four hours, which directly contradicts the product description in the listing. It's not going to last eight hours. Not even close. And if someone gets this to last 12 hours, please call Guinness World Records. You can see for yourself by reading the back of the box in the pictures, but I didn't do that for my last order because I thought I had bought it before! In summary, I have now ordered Dentemp Canker Covers to replace these DenTek Canker Covers because another reviewer mentioned that brand and it appears to be the tablet-style that is effective. I don't know what I will do with the remaining stock I have of DenTek Canker Covers, but I am considering asking for a refund because the product listing does not match the product. I shouldn't be forced to pay for a product that is so dramatically different than what I received previously. This should legitimately be a different product listing entirely. It is not the same product anymore.
