This a great educational toy, a little bit heavy but great great quality and features. It’s a must have honestly, Im so glad I bought it. It also makes a great gift. My daughter barely spends time on her toys, but this one she uses most of the times. We even take it with us when we go out because she gets cranky sometime when we put her in the car seat and she gets busy with her book. Idk why she loves the French version too.

It’s really nice

Our 20 month old daughter loves this book.But as a parent, I feel that this book has three issues.One: If your toddler is used to thick board books and still working on the motor skills to turn thin pages in books, this particular book might be a little difficult at first. The pages of this book are thin and made of a slick matte material. The pages will be able to withstand both toddler drool and sticky fingers, but they’re also a little slick for a toddler to turn. When grasping a page or turning a page, it’s very easy to touch objects near the edge of the page without even trying. Even using the tabs on the side can be a challenge. If the pages were a tad thicker and the page tabs were a little wider/longer, this book would be awesome.Two: Each page is a different category containing different objects for toddlers to touch. Touching each object invokes a spoken word in English or Spanish. And this book is very responsive to touch - it accommodates even the softest toddler touch, which is a catch-22. Because the objects on each page are close together, if a toddler is using two fingers to touch an object, they may touch a different object or multiple objects at the same time. So when she breaks this book out for the day, we sometimes have to remind her to touch one spot at a time by guiding her hand (using her index finger) so that she’s not touching multiple objects.Three: You should know that this book is pretty loud even on the low setting. My husband actually tried to cover the speaker with some cardboard (haha!), but the sound escapes through the holes in the back of the unit and the cardboard doesn’t make much of a difference. After a few minutes, the low volume sounds almost the same as high volume.

This is my review for the LeapFrog Learning Friends 100 Words Book.I have bought two of these books. One through a competitor, and once my kids abused it and destroyed it a second one through Amazon. The best positive feedback I can say about it is that after the 1st one broke, I bought it again almost instantly. There are two volume settings (high, low), three play modes and two languages (English, Spanish). My kids, (20 months and 3.5 year old) love this book so much that not re-buying it wasn't an option. The words are indeed age appropriate and the images are colorful and bright. Which leads me to the negatives…The design of it wasn’t the smartest. I’m guessing there are sensors inside the plastic covers that look at one of eight positions. By flipping through the pages, you are flipping at a switch that says which page you are on. The problem is that the front cover was made in a way that it hangs in the air when open, because of that, if a toddler puts some of his/her weight on it, it might damage the connectors. Thus, making half of the book not work. Additionally, the sensors are sensitive enough to read through a bunch of pages, thus they are EXTREMELY sensitive when there are none or few pages between your fingers and the cover.Additional negatives are in the content translations. Most of the words in Spanish are correct, and the sentences and song are enunciated correctly. The problem lies in a few words that they were lazy in finding a word that made sense. For example: they have the clothing piece “shorts” translated as “los shorts”. Really. And that is not the only time they did that. I couldn’t give it five stars because of those issues. So, summarizing:Pros:- Bilingual toy great for toddlers learning words in both English and Spanish.- Bright and colorful pictures- Tons of phrases, songs, words and sentences. With three play modes and two languages.Cons:- Durability is an issue, as the front cover hangs in the air when opened which leads to the sensors being damaged.- The sensors are extremely sensitive to the point that pointing at something in the book two inches away triggers it.- Most of the translations are good but a few are really, REALLY terrible…

Recomiendo que los bebés tengan mínimo 18 meses como dice el libro, porque los hojas son delgadas y frágiles, podrían romper el sensor táctil si se doblan las hojas. Si buscan un libro para menores de 18 meses opten por libros con solapas y hojas más gruesas.Me parece un libro muy completo en cuanto a los animales y sus sonidos, sin embargo no todas las imágenes son reales, algunas son dibujos, pero esta bien para aprender a conocer los sonidos y los nombres de animalesPor página vienen 9 fotos de animales, lo que le da poco espacio a cada foto de cada animal.
