Well designed and built. It made a real difference to our moss filled lawn and was very easy to use. The pick up bag does fill quickly but with a wheelbarrow near it saves time raking.

I've had this for nearly 3 years ago and so I'm in a good position to assess its performance. It's a beast of a machine, powerful, and a good size. The scarifier works well, although, as another reviewer commented, the scarified material isn't directed into the collecting box at quite the right angle and so it doesn't get a chance to fill up properly. So I don't use the collecting box, preferring to rake the lawn afterwards. To be fair, scarifying tend to produce lots of material, and with other scarifiers I've used I didn't bother with a collecting box either as you end up stopping every few seconds to empty it. To use as an aerator, you swap in the aerator bar, which has meaty blades instead of wire teeth. Purpose-built aerators use hollow tines to punch out cores from the soil; these blades slice into the ground and it's a bit like ploughing. They will make quite a mess of the lawn so you probably don't want them too deep, and it's worth testing on a bit of lawn before you commit to doing the whole thing. One issue I had is with long thin twigs from overhanging trees (esp a weeping silver birch) wrapping around the scarifier bar between its end and the bearing holder (the one you undo to swap the bars). If material gets jammed here, friction heats up the bearing holder which unfortunately is plastic, so it starts to melt. Fortunately I noticed the smell and stopped before too much damage was done (see photos). I think this is a design fault, and it should be made of metal. So be aware of this possibility. Overall, it's still a decent machine.

Easy to put together and pleased with the scarifying results.

What a beast. Similar to our green works battery mower. Both top quality. When I unboxed I was unsure. It seemed heavy and huge. We got the 1800w but on checking the 1500 was only marginally smaller although lighter. The central carrying handle makes it easy to lift and once on the ground the large wheels makes the weight disappear. The scary fitted blade is the aerator. A fantastic YouTube video shows how to build and swap blade to scarifier in detail.so easy. You only have to put the three sections of handle together. I set the scarifier to 3 then max 4 which is why I got it. I have a fairly large lawn. The 38 cm blade did it with ease in 30 mins. Churned up some earth on max then I went over on 1 to suck up any drop. Fantastic piece of kit. 3 year guarantee and with an 1800w motor unlikely to overheat. I bought it on the interest free. Fantastic kit

Great product. Worked very efficiently scarifying and raking my medium sized lawn. Very easy to change the raking cylinder for the scarifying cylinder. Excellent value for money at the reduced priced. Fairly heavy to carry but relatively easy to wheel and manoeuvre.
