A Comprehensive Cable Management Kit – Sleeve’ a Little Narrow For Multiple Cables
Ordered this Oksdown 144 Pack Cable Management Kit as the catalyst for a project to tidy up the area behind the TV in the second lounge – this is used as an area for listening to music on main hi-fi and for games and has 4 consoles, amplifier, streaming player , floor standing speakers, DVD and TV. Most of these have a combination of cables running to the TV and/or amplifier, long with their respective power supplies / mains cables, so as you can imagine this is a real rats nest of cabling. The Oksdown 144 Pack Cable Management Kit contains some key pieces that I wanted to use, namely the wrap around sleeve tubing and the Velcro cable ties, along with a few cable ties in key places. The kit is very comprehensive, some of the supplied items I wouldn’t use in this case but may have a future project that will use them, such as the adhesive bases – but not on the the TV stand in this instance with it being glass. One thing that I found a little disappointing was the sleeve tubing, which is supplied as four pieces, I would prefer one long piece I could cut to sizes I need, and it is very narrow compared to others I’ve used, I managed to get two reasonably thick mains extension cables into one section and in another a combination of five audio and HDMI cables – so I did manage to complete the task, but had to batch cables up into more bunches than I would have liked. I will say however that at least now it looks like someone cares for it and there is a much better chance of finding what is needed than there was with the chaos before today.Overall it is a very complete set, the only issue I had was the aforementioned sleeves – twice the width and a single length would have been perfect – as supplied it was a little more of a faff on than it could have otherwise been.

Handy cable management set
This is a handy set of cable management gear, although it isn't perfect. Inside the package is a zip-lock bag which contains four cable sleeves, a bag of 100 cable ties, 30 self adhesive mounting bases, and ten velcro straps. The straps are great for bunching cables together, as are the cable ties, and if you use the self-adhesive bases you can attach them to the back of a desk or down the leg, then fasten cable ties to them in order to route cables where you would like. The sleeves are a little disappointing. I'd have preferred a long sleeve which I could cut to size, but inside the bag are four sections, each about 30 inches long (according to the product page on here) which feels a little short, and they're very narrow. As with most things like this they're open along one side - they're actually a lot wider than they look - but they're so tightly wrapped the diameter of the sleeve is barely that of the tip of my little finger. I managed to get a couple of cables into each length but it was a struggle, fiddly, and I'd have preferred the sleeves to be at least twice as wide so I could get maybe four cables into each. Still, the back of my TV looks a lot better now thanks to this kit, and the bits I've not used yet will certainly find a use.

Reasonable starter kit
Oksdown offer us a reasonable assortment of components in this starter kit. After playing with the bits one soon realises what is actually needed for a practical installation, be it Office, Domestic, Hobby, Automotive, etc.The sleeving is OK for small bundles, but on each of my four pieces the ends were badly finished: welded shut preventing it unfurling to let the cables in, but not fully sealed all around the sleeve end and already beginning to fray. Judicious use of snippers and an old tip in the soldering iron cured the problem, but I should not have to do this unless I shorten the sleeve. One can never have enough cable ties in different sizes, both one-time and Velcro, I think they must sublimate. The sticky-back mounting pads can prove very useful to help avoid nail holes in the skirting boards when tagging Ethernet cables further away from their wall sockets. In the long run it is probably more useful to buy in bulk the elements one uses most; .eg1. the sleeve in a longer fatter size and be prepared to seal its ends when cut to an exact size .eg2. ‘Hook and Loop’ tape in a 25m roll to cut to size. .eg3. white mounts and ties

Curb that CABLE CHAOS...
This is a handy assortment of cable organisation products that includes plastic cable ties, velcro cable ties and cable cover sleeves (along with adhesive mounts, which I haven’t tried), all of which can help you to manage cable chaos you might have anywhere around the home. All of the pieces are black and generally suitably sized to be practically useful. The velcro ties are by far my favourite in this kit; they’re adjustable and reusable, unlike the plastic ties which need to be cut off to be removed. Personally I would have preferred the velcro ties to have been a bit longer to be able to wrap up bigger bundles of wire but I can still make use of them. The plastic sleeves too would have been better had they been thicker to be able to house chunkier cables - and sold as one continuous strip rather than pre-cut into three pieces... Still a good selection of products though, both versatile and budget-friendly and very quick and easy to use.
