Frame wire wrap
Good wire wrap tool.

Consistent wrap and unwrap
it's been now a year and this tool is still great. It's pricey, but well worth it. Another brand, the claw on the unwrap part never would catch the end of the wire coil. But this one catches every time. AND the wrap part of it has a long slot such that you can DAISY CHAIN adjacent pins. (not possible with a ww gun) I just wish the slot for the wrapping end was marked at the tip side.. the groove is difficult to see many times so you have to twirl it to find the slot.

It works
Works as intended.

overpriced but no alternatives
I have to take off a star just because it's a ripoff. They could at least make the handle out of metal instead of plastic for this price. I guess wire wrapping is a bit of a lost art, which I don't quite understand because IMO it's still the best way to prototype.

Perfect tool and great price.
I do a lot of work on vintage stereo receivers and, unlike to today's connectors, there are a lot of wire wrapped connections on the boards in these systems. I decided I needed to invest in one of these tools based on one of the audio forums comments about working with wire wrapped boards. They are hard to come by today as wire wrapping is not as common anymore. I checked around and found similar tools but were twice the price. Amazon had one from a reputable maker and had a great price. So, I ordered one. Worked perfectly and now allows me the opportunity to repair without wire cutting and splicing. Product well built and does exactly what I need it to do. I recommend it highly.

The tool is easy to find. The wire may not be.
Works great! Must be used with correct gauge wire and correct type of wire. In my case I used 22 gauge awm1015 or ul1017. Wire must tinned. In my case, stranded wire tinned to a solid state or “top coat”. The tool was easy to find but the wire was not.

Review
Excellent, would reccomend to others.
