Covered Black in 3 coats!
Used the color Firework over this black cabinet and red and white hutch I frankensteined together. It took 3 thin coats for complete, even coverage. Used synthetic furniture brushes also from Amazon. The two pieces now look like they were made for each other! I had my doubts that I could cover the black cabinet and that it would come out the same color as the hutch that was most red and white... Paint has zero smell, I painted this in place, opened the window with a fan. Dries fast but doesn't pill up ig you accidentally swipe over a dried area. A bit streaky but by the third coat it is minimal. This paint exceeded my expectations. My advice? Clean your piece, thins coats, & take your time. Still have about 1/4 of the big jar leftover.

Mustard yellow very dark
The mustard yellow was a lot darker than in the photo so I had to buy the white one to lighten it. You can see the difference in the second photo with the white added to it. Then it was the perfect shade of mustard yellow for me. I love the door overall but I hated the process. I've never worked with chalk paint like this before. It was a very different texture, it dried too quickly and would get clumpy so there's spots I had to try and blend. You have to work quickly and do not go over a spot you just went over until it actually dries. I think if I bought the chalk brushes that is recommended with it, it wouldn't have been so bad, texture wise, and it did make it easier but you still have to work quickly. While I do wish I used a different paint to achieve this color on my door, I don't hate it enough to change. I just can't look to closely at the slight imperfections.

Forgiving, easy to use and looks great
I hate to paint. But i had a dresser with ripped decoupage, been beat up after many moves, and abused by my psycho cat. Went through the process to strip off junk and left the rest as is. Decided to try this. #1 it is thick but goes on really nice. SUPER forgiving. I really stink at painting but this went on flawless. I used a brush and also a cheapo foam roller. I can’t even tell after it is dry. Nice and even. #2 the color is exactly like advertised but i struggled to get my phone to show that color. I took a shot in 2 different lights. It looks a little greener in person. Which is perfect. It dries really quick and i did a couple coats. Now, the finish is very chalky which edges my teeth so i will probably get wax or something to at least do the top..maybe one of these days. This exceeded my expectations (so far). I haven’t cleaned it yet and not sure of durability. It’s still a win so far.

Great paint but…
You will not get the results you see in the advertised photos of refinished furniture without the country chic sealant wax. That’s not why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. The paint is thick, not as “forgiving” as other reviewers have said. Large flat surfaces needed a roller finish coat even after using chalk paint brushes. It’s advertised as self leveling but at least for me, a roller top coat was needed to hide brush strokes. You can also see how much richer the color gets when you use the country chic sealant wax. It adds dimension and shine besides protection. The green color was pretty but dull without the wax.

Great color, adds interesting texture, don’t use matte spray or poly finish
I used about half the tub to cover these cabinet walls that are about 14”x30”. The color is beautiful, though a bit lighter than I expected. The texture it gives is really interesting. It’s a sort of velvety matte. The one issue is with durability — I have to be pretty careful with moving it. It tends to scuff easily but I think that’s intentional. If you want to protect it, I wouldn’t recommend any general clear sprays, like matte or poly, because it changed the texture/finish of the paint that makes it so interesting. I didn’t try the clear coat from this brand, so can’t speak to that. As a decorative paint, I highly recommend it!
