So Inspiring!
I have been practicing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan for just over a decade. I am also a teacher, now teaching twice a week. This was a book I have wanted for a long time and finally it was the right time to buy it. There are so many kriyas (exercises) and meditations from Yogi Bhajan, I don't want to do all of them, it's not even necessary. Every page has powerful knowledge that can change your life. I started doing one meditation in the book and in only four days I noticed a huge shift in myself. I am excited to choose a kriya for a 40 day sadhana and to teach from this book.I am so grateful that the kundalini yoga community creates these manuals.

Essential kriyas for women
Essential for all new and seasoned Kundalini Yoginis, great compilation of kriyas and meditations that will guide and help you in every aspect of your life, during the good moments and the challenges you have to learn from.Part of a Yogi Ji's lecture in German on women:(January 24, 1990)"You know, the greatest misunderstanding which you have as a woman is that you think you are a person. You are a better half or you are a weaker sex. This is the tragedy which nobody can break. Unfortunately you are not a person, you are a woman, you may become a mother, but still you are a woman. You may become a lover, you are still a woman, doesn't matter what you become, basically you are a woman, and the environment and circumstances in which you live, you are made to forget you are a woman and that is not the tragedy of you as people, this is the tragedy of the planet Earth, that woman forgets she is a woman. The word is so romantic and charming and the word of the man is so powerful, that category woman forgets that she is a woman. Among you, you might be looking very beautiful, but you might have had serious tragedies of life. Among you there maybe many who are very unhappy, unfulfilled, you maybe very rich and authentic, but still inside you, you will find lot of pain. From last twenty years I have taught women about eighteen years ago, I started, grace of God movement of women of America and moment I started that the word of the man has not spared me also. Now you have to bear a child, you have to cook meals, you have to clean house, you have to be very sexy and you have to make equal money and you have to live longer and smarter plus take all the abuse and still smile, this is the definition of the modern woman. Eight hands, sixteen legs, twenty heads, still pretty, modern beautiful, 'yes darling, hi darling, you darling, me darling' and there is no damn darling and you can't even say that, do you understand."I include the table of content to give you a better idea of what this book includes.Part OneAwakening your inner vitality: Essentials for daily practiceSentivity: Connect to your eternal powerRadiance: Walking in Beauty and living in graceSound mind and body: Using the sound current to create clarity and caliberPart TwoFearless: Empower your lifeWoman as her own psychologist I: Clearing the SelfWoman as her own psychologist II: Cultivating the SelfCrisis Kit: What to do when there's nothing left to doPart ThreeSexuality and creativity: Igniting the sparkRelationships and communication: Redefining intercourseBecoming a mother: 9 months, 40 days and everydayTransformation and Transitions: Breathing though everythingHealing and relaxation: Becoming healthy, happy and holyPart FourBeauty begins within: Personal discipline and the graceful woman

Essential for women, young and old
Ten months ago, I began practicing Kundalini Yoga, which has been a huge blessing! In the month of August, my teacher began teaching out of I Am Woman. I liked the sets we did in class so much, I bought my own book so I could practice at home. Each set is beautifully photographed, and explained in detail. The purpose of each posture and breath is clearly explained so one can observe its effects. Each chapter begins with beautiful words of wisdom and support by the authors. It is as if the wisest sisters, mothers and grandmothers who have ever lived are surrounding and supporting. This morning as I did a kriya to calm my overly active mind, I found myself filled with joy and appreciation for the women who compiled this book. It is as if they are reaching out from the pages with love guidance and support. I felt so loved, and able to carry on my day with a clear mind. Thank you! Thank you to the authors of this book. And perhaps,as the writer above states, a spiral binding would allow the book to lay flat, but I would love it no matter what!

Great for Kundalini Meditations
This is a very well put together book, although I find it hard to practice with it open since it is not sprial bound. There are a few really excellent sets. The number of sets was disappointing though, as the main reason I bought this was to add some diveristy to my personal home practice. I found that it had an extensive amount of meditation in which a variety of areas releveant to women are offered. The photos give excellent reference for how to conduct different postures and especially hand mudras. I would recommend it to a person who already has a basic understanding of Kundalini Yoga.

Life Changing!
I’m grateful for all the wisdom that this book contains. It was mentioned to me months ago, but I don’t think my mind would have been open and receptive enough to accept the messages then. I’m grateful to be open to this knowledge now.

Some pretty hippy woo woo stuff in here
Some pretty hippy woo woo stuff in here. But great if you are into that sort of thing. I love the empowerment and specific sequences. I think I would like it better if I had a Kundalini teacher to talk about and demo some of the chants and poses. Sometimes I have a hard time feeling like I am doing it "right" I did incorporate some of the mantras and poses into my regular vinyasa class with some great success. The students seemed to like it a lot because it was different then most other styles of yoga typically practiced in America.
