Does the job, perfect for what I wanted
Easy to understand instructions, fan unit takes a bit of finagling to get into the correct location, but just take your time and it will fit. Hook up simple since my unit already had all the necessary plugin's in place...only cut my hand in 2 spots due to the sharp edges of metal objects hidden under the fireplace. At 100% power, the unit is a bit noisy, but I have mine at around 85%, and unless there is complete silence in the room, you do not even know that it is on. Takes about 15 minutes to begin to throw enough heat in the room to notice some difference, but we have a large room (17 X 15) with high ceiling. I will buy the exact same unit for our other fireplace when the budget allows in a couple of months.

Great product, really increased efficiency of our fireplace.
It was fairly easy to install, but had to ask an electrician friend of mine to look at it because I was unsure about where to put the ground wire, and duh, it just clips on any part inside the fireplace. It blows really well for its small size and really pushes a lot of hot air into the room. I feel like our fireplace, which has a thermostat, runs half the time and heats the room twice as well. The sensor works perfectly. There are no instructions for someone who is not technical, just a diagram of what goes where, so if you are that person call a really smart friend to help.

With some reconfiguration, will replace a GDS-63 blower
I spent a ton of time trying to find a replacement blower for the GDS-63 in my Napoleon GDS-50 stove. The original is either not available or extremely expensive. Some replacements only moved half the air and were noted as considerably louder than stock. I really had a hard time finding definitive "I used this fan" answers out there. I finally found this one and decided to take a chance on it. It's almost right. The form factor for the base and overall size is correct, but the plug is wrong and the "nozzles" needed to rotate 90deg to match the original. It's a fiddly operation that requires 2 sets of hands, a heat gun, and prying, but you can get the fan cages off the shafts and reach the 4 machine screws underneath to turn the housing 90deg. The hardest part was being patient and not breaking the plastic cages while prying. Luckily we had the old assembly to practice on.Got the whole thing installed, clipped off the wall plug to match the wires from the original, and all is well. It might be slightly louder than the original, but since the original had a bearing going bad, it's hard to say. The housing is a considerably cheaper chinesium copy of the original Made in the USA version, that's for sure. It's been in the stove working for 2 days, so no comment on longevity yet.

works as advertised
came with extra things (heat sensor accessories) not listed on the ad...... it appears to be the same as the last one I bought to replace the original... the original lasted 12+ years, the replacement lasted 7 or 8 years, this one ..... well I'm expecting 5 or 6 years but hoping for more.... the fan works pretty well but vibrates a little more than either of the other two I had. It's meant to be in a horizontal position but in this model of Quadrafire insert it's vertical and it's a wonder it lasts as long as it does. Good price and fast delivery.

Works great! Purchasing again for a 2nd fireplace in my home.
I am regretting how long I waited to purchase a blower for my fireplace. I purchased this one and installed it with ease. I have the setting on the highest speed and have no issues with the sound. Thanks to this purchase, my fireplace is both beautiful and functional as a source of heat for my living room. I have already ordered a second unit to install in the master bedroom fireplace.

Loud at EVERY speed
Ordered this fan as it seemed like it might be a good blend of quality and affordability. After an easy installation, the fan kicked on as it was suppose to and was horrifyingly loud. I removed it to find one of the fan shafts bent and rubbing the fan against the housing. I bent the shaft back and reinstalled. The rubbing noise was gone but the buzz is uncomfortably loud at EVERY speed not just high. I'm going to give it one more look but as of now I feel that this is garbage. In hindsight, I see the mixed reviews suggesting no quality control.

Works for distributing heat, but motor noise made it too annoying to keep
The blower worked really well in regards to making our fireplace much more efficient, but there was an annoying level of motor noise that was extremely evident at lower speeds. Because of this, there was no speed that you could have it on where you couldn't hear it. The speed controller dial I received also didn't turn smoothly. There was a spot in the middle that would catch periodically and you would have to pull the knob toward you or push it in a little to keep moving it. Not sure if this was a defective unit or that is just the way it is, but I ended up returning it. If you are going to install into a fireplace that is already in a loud area it may work, but as I said because the motor noise was more evident at lower fan speeds I couldn't find a sweet spot that wasn't annoying.

Really helped turn our gas fireplace into an actual heater
Great fan for the money. Took about 15 minutes to install because our gas fireplace already had a plug-in style junction box. Instructions were very easy to understand. Fan took a few minutes to get through the existing wiring and into place. Fan itself has ball bearings which is not stated on specs. But should help with durability. Running at about 2/3 speed which is pretty quiet for the amount of air it moves.
