Q: Would it work as a litter mat and scratching surface?

its pretty long for a litter mat and i think their claws might get caught in it but i really don't know. My cats use our LL bean Waterhog doormat for scratching and it never leaves a pull!

Q: To clean it other than shaken the dirt off, can it be washed off with a hose and be used right away or do you need to give it some drying time?

I haven't tried to hose it off yet. I usually vacuum it. If I washed it I would dry it before use.
